905R --- reshafting with BB 73X (full bore or blind bore?)

I've heard some opinions on how to reshaft a 905R. Some say to reshaft with a softer flex because of the long full bore. Others have said use the flex you want, but just "blind bore" it.

I'm worried about sound and playability if blind boring a full bore driver like the 905R.

I really worry when doing this experimentation with a $275 shaft ... Diamana BlueBoard 73X (real one).

I'm pulling the BB from a R7 SQ TP head and putting it in the 905R ... I think I have enough parallel tip to insert it full in the 905R, but I don't want it to play XXX.

Thoughts?

I currently am playin a 905r that is blind bored.

it does not effect the sound or playability at all.

i think its a great idea to blind bore the head

you get a shaft that doesnt play as stiff

you also get to use more of the tip section

if you do blind bore (which i recommend)

pull your v2 out and put some cheap shaft in

and cut it off at the hosel and drill down 1.5"

the v2 is to nice a shaft to just destroy like that

I inserted a Grafalloy Axis into a 905R full bore, and it CPM'ed out to a double X. It felt stiffer for sure, but it wasn't unmanageable really. If you put that shaft full bore into the R from the SQ TP, then it will play shorter than 45". Probably in the 43.5" range without an extension.
