Not good....All of the cheap Callaway balls are pretty poor. At that price point I would rather play the Top Flite Gamer. Callaway makes both of them and you are not paying to have Callaway stamped on it.

Contrary to the above, I have tried the Diablo and like it. Plays long, and straight. less short game spin than some others, but enough. rolls very true. Similar to the Gamer but shreds less. I will likely continue to play it.

Yes, I've tried it. IMO it's nothing more than the normal 2-piece ball except it's a bit more expensive (about $24 per dozen). Wasn't any longer and didn't perform around the greens any better than the other balls in it's category. Comes in a nice red box though!

Found one in the bushes today and decided to play it for the remainder of the round, about 4-5 holes. It's soft, springy soft, like a bouncy ball. The one thing that's peculiar about this ball is how it rolls on the greens. I can just make a light stroke and it would roll forever, although it rolled very true. If you play on slow greens or if you like picking fast putting lines, you might like this ball. It was hard to get a feel for it with my putter. It's almost like the ball saw my putter coming and decided to run away before getting struck. The cover actually held up pretty good. Distance wise it's about 3-4 yards longer than the D2 Feel. I don't know if I like this ball or not. I might tee off with it again next time and hopefully play a full round with it.

I guess I got a bad batch of them, I tried it last week in a relaxing round with a buddy. I cracked yes cracked 3 of them, 1 with my driver and the other 2 with my 3 wood. The balls literally cracked halfway thru. I called Callaway and they sent me a shipping label to send the batch back. It was a 75 degree day, untypical 70 percent humidity day. Balls were teed up and landed in the fairway albeit not very far down the fairway. They didn't hit anything but the face of my club. Up until I cracked them they were an ok ball. I thought for the money the Wilson Zip ball was a better ball, as well as the TM tour burner LDP ball. My SS is 106-109. It was kinda funny tho, they looked like they were shot out of the sky. None of us noticed a different sound either. Callaway stated they would send me golfballs for my trouble. Maybe they were made in a late batch on a friday after a 3 pitcher lunch and the "magic formula" was not added ;)

Same feeling here. Kind of a "whatever" ball. It's overpriced for what you get IMHO.

+1 But I usually play a premium ball. I got a two pack from a promo. Liked the Burner TP ball they also gave me better as far as cheaper balls go. The Gamer and Laddie are also good cheaper balls.

I got a promo two pack as well when I bought my diablo hybrid. I normally play a variety of balls: NXT tour, hot bites, e5/e6, D2 feels, one platinum. Driving with it wasn't bad but I didn't like it around the green. Overall, I thought there was nothing special about the ball, especially at that price point.

I was given 18 of them for signing up for an Amateur tour. I went out and tried it expecting not to like it. It wasn't that bad. In fact, I had a pretty good score. Through 16 holes (didn't get to finish 18 because I had something to get to), I had 74, on a course I hadn't played in about 8 months. The ball seemed to check up on the greens, rolled nicely (i made lots of putts that day), and spun nicely of chips and out of the bunker. It was decent off the driver, didn't spin much, and went fairly long. So I haven't written it off yet, especially as I still have 14 of them left....

I used the Diablo ball yesterday for several holes, I actually like it. I have always preferred a softer feeling golf ball and this one definitely has that. My chipping was not great yesterday (1st round this year) but the Diablo had some bite on my chips, distance was predictable but my direction was a bit off. Feel off the driver/irons was good for me, not sure if this will replace my 2 current favorite balls (TM Black/E5+) but I have nothing bad to say about the Diablo ball. Retail here is $27.99, similar to the E5+ pricing and $22 less than a dozen Blacks.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
