what are the characteristics of the matrix mfs driver shaft, I was thinking of picking one up

for me it launches low for my swing in a 10.5 but i would say its a mid launch low spin shaft. It feels great especially for what i paid for it lol

 

got one in the basement as a back up!!!!!

How do you like that Solus wedge? The concept is interesting, but haven't had the opportunity to hit one myself.

I do like it. Its a 51 but plays an easy 53 being able to open it up with the dual bounce. Bites as good as any wedge i have had with the milled face and all.

I cant wait to get my hands the new 7.1's

I can't kick my MP-32s out of the bag for any extended length of time either. How do they play with the Nippons? I have tour concepts in mine and have put just about everything under the sun in them, save those Nippons.

I get really good feedback with the Nippons. Being the 1150's they are the heavier of the Nips which I am a fan of heavier. I get a medium flight out of them but they are easy for me to manupulate so im sold.........and they will be pulled for my next set of irons unless i get a great deal on some DG Tours......

First I taped of all the parts i wasnt re-painting, then I just took my time starting with some 110 grit sanding sponge and worked up to 440 i believe once i got the paint off. The paint i used is an industrial paint that my buddy (tommy boy) got for me. I put down 2 thin base coats (i waited about an hour between coats for ample dry time) the third coat i sprayed light from far away so i got more of a textured affect.

What a crazy looking grind on that vokey. Anything specific you were trying to get it to do with that grind or just toying around? Did you lose much weight ala the lead tape back there?

Oh man....that wedge was a project alright.......I was going for the whole dual bounce 60-70 degree change. I lost a ton of weight. There is a plug in the hosel, tungsten powder in the epoxy, and the lead tape and it still Swingweights at D0. Oh well i dont know anyone who can take a full swing of the fringe hit the ball 40ft in the air and only 10ft forward and take no divot. :D

 

 

I use it only when i have to. Other wise the 58° get 99% of the shots

BTW nice 425 TP set up. The reason I am selling the SQ Tour is even though it and the Sumo are 460cc, with the sumo i visual drown out the powerbow, so my eyes see a small club head (black area). The SQ Tour hits awesome, it just looks to big for my taste. And with the "unique" yet fun ball flight i get from the Sapphire in my Sumo, I dont need the SQ Tour. So i say nice 425 since i may be looking into that combo with a 103x BB or or 83x WB

I feel like a girl when I see that driver shaft LOL. My driver bounces at 271 and feels pretty good. What is your SS? Wide mix of clubs. That Vokey is crazy.

lol. SS is a smooth 112-116. I say smooth cuz i mean slower tempo. Thats why i like the Sapphire, its a slower loader. Yeah the vokey is just their for those unseen crazy up and downs I have to try to make. Usually the 58 gets the nod but that Vokey has saved me many a pars. I dont carry more than 10-12 clubs for competition so its not like its really taking up space, even if it gets used once a round it usually is a hole saver.

 

I dont really use woods much because i prefer to stay out of trouble and lay up on par 5s. I love the 4 wood so that as low as a game unless its stupid windy then ill take the 3 and leave the driver at home......although with the flight characteristics the Sapphire gives me......may not need the 3 wood
