Whats the best video editing software?

Guys that video tape their swing, which software?

I will be taping my swing and want to know what software you guys use to edit your swing. I want to link swings together and delete me setting up the ball and take out me turning on and off the camera. Hopefully its free software and the easy to use

Quicktime pro for the basic stuff, trimming, combining etc

I use ULead Video Studio. Its fairy easy to use.

virtual dub is free and works very well. But let me ask you this... How technical are you? like do you know the codec of the video recorded is? A lot of the more powerful software out there might be too hard or more than you need depending on weither or not you can use that power.

 

Beyond that if you have a Mac us iMovie, on windows use Movie Maker live. Both are setup to only really do simple stuff like you describe and not much else. I happen to like Virtual Dub since I do use some of the advanced features and will often take full motion video and turn it into a slow motion sequence which can help see a swing better.

I have one of these at my local ranges, so I guess I'm a bit spoiled. It's by far the easiest system I've used.

final cut express or adobe premiere will do the trick with pc ( alot of products work just fine) those two are quite straight forward.

 

 

when you video tape and hope to go forward to slow motion, try turning the shutter setting up to about 1/500 - 1/1000 in your video camera (should be in the menu)

it will freeze your actions a bit better for slow mo... it will look jittery however at normal speed.
