Added Golf Guru as a choice

Looking to get a GPS and have narrowed it down to these choices. Let us know which ones you like or don't like.

I just bought a GPS Golf Guru. Very pleased so far.

 

Bought a refurb with coupon for 189.

You probably should have included the golf guru in that mix. You can get a "same as new" refurb from the manufacturer for $199. I got one and am very happy with it. Also, they have excellent customer service. For instance I found two maps to be lacking in fairway targets and hazards. Two days after contacting them, they informed me that these were two of their early maps and they were updated upon my request. When I reloaded the new maps I found that each hole contained many detailed targets/hazards. They also have a policy of mapping any course that they don't have within 7 days. I also tested this and they had a detailed map ready for download in 3 days!

 

Also at this time Guru doesn't charge for map updates, so that is a $30-$60 annual savings over many of the other devices on your list. Per the manufacturer if they do decide to start charging, any device purchased prior to that decision would be grandfathered in.

 

If inexpensive is your primary goal, the Neo for $129 is tough to beat.

I have a Neo and I love it. I don't play many courses (I get free golf at two local courses through my work, so I play they 90% of the time), and I mapped them myself, so it ended up being $130 total, no memberships or course download fees.

 

It's simple, reliable, and small. And I'm an idiot, so add "idiot proof" to the list :)
