iGolf Neo firmware upgrade available

Just got the email. The firmware upgrade is now available for download. Some good enhancements.

Having had the Sky Caddie 4 in the past the Neo continues to do everything I need flawlessly in a nice small size.

At first glance it appears to have much fewer enhancements than originally rumoured.

 

According to their web page there are only 3 New items.

1. Enhanced Main screen. Main display now shows front, center, back readings to current green.

2. Simplified file transfer. Easier to download courses.

3. Automatic shut off.

 

Also Neo Sync now at v3.0.1

 

 

The Good

Item 1. I will really prefer this. This initial screen makes alot more sense to me.

 

The Bad

Under system requirements it shows Windows only systems. I use both Macs and Windows PC's so it won't be too much of a pain.

 

The Ugly

From their web, you must be a PAID member.

 

I won't install this until I hear about other user experiences.

In their usual manner, I couldn't find details on their site, and had to refer back to their email for the url to get information.

I just downloaded and installed the new firmware and the new sync program for the Neo. I really like the new enhancements. Managing and syncing courses is so much easier. For example, when you connect the Neo to your PC, it automatically goes into "USB mode" and is ready to transfer courses. You no longer have to go through the menus and select "sync handheld", or turn any missle keys, etc.. You can also delete courses right from the sync software; you no longer have to do it right on the Neo. There's lots more stuff like that which make it easier to use with less button presses.

 

What I'm most impressed with is that when I had a problem updating the firmware, I called igolf, and within 30 seconds I was talking to a friendly and knowledgeable engineer who talked me though the problem and got it working. Great customer service is rare these days, and for that reason alone I will continue to buy igolf stuff.
