Summer in Phoenix

I'm sorry if this has been answered in another thread, but I couldn't find any mention of the topic. I'm going to Phoenix in August and I want to play some early morning rounds. Does anyone know if these courses will be in good shape in late summer or if they will be burned out? I assume they will be in good shape, but I just want to make sure they don't go to crap each summer before I schedule my trip.

Those will be in good condition but make sure to call them and get their aeration schedule and go before they aerate or at least 2 weeks after - otherwise your day on a beautiful course will be mired in holes.

Believe it or not, August/September typically present some of the best turf conditions of the year in the Arizona desert. Early summer (May/June) is very hot and dry and the transition from winter rye can present some spotty conditions. But by the end of July there is more humidity and the bermuda is growing quite healthy.

Just saw this picture of We-ko-pa and it has me a bit worried. This was taken in July last year -- should I expect similar conditions this year?

The Saguaro course first opened for play in late '06. The pics you show are from the first summer (2007). I played it in August that year and encountered some of the spotty conditions you can see. IN NO WAY DID IT AFFECT THE ENJOYMENT OR DELIGHT OF PLAYING THIS COURSE. I didn't get out there last summer (2008) but I would be fairly confident that the conditions have improved.

Please don't be worried. We-Ko-Pa Saguaro is a MUST PLAY when visiting the Phoenix area.
