Sponsorship Thread? Deleted?

Why?

I fiquired it was a scam but I'm just curious as too why the thread was deleted? I posted a bunch of questions to the young man and I would be curious to hear his response. And if in fact he was just trying to scam some members then I think other people who weren't able to read the thread earlier should be able too. If he deleted it fine but if it was a mods decision I'd be curious as too why? If the mods don't want to post an answer in the open forum just PM me.
Not trying to stir anything up I'd just like to know. If its none of my business no problem.

I would guess it is due to it getting a little beyond just asking the guy/kid/person for clarification of his credentials. The mods here have a fine line to walk with what is disrespectful to a member, so I am glad they err on the side of caution to some extent.

One of the things I REALLY like and respect about GolfWRX is the lack of censorship especially from the mods and owners. There's just not the same amount of propoganda and shady dealings that happen here, especially compared to that "other" site.

 

However, for that to work the membership must be very responsible and respectful of one another.

 

To me, it looked like someone got caught in their own web of lies. When members wanted an explanation, they got none from the party involved. That's a black mark to the board and everyone who participates here.

 

I'd urge the person in question to be a man and take some responsibility for their actions and tell the truth about what happened. It's not fair to the board that untrustworthy members are allowed to degrade the reputation of others.

I respect the mods for trying to set things straight and keep this board for what it is, a great resource for golf fanatics. Does the quoted post mean that the original poster complained he was being treated unfairly thus the post was deleted? Wasn't it a bed that the thread originator made for himself? Yes, some posts can be disrespectful to other members and that stuff should not be tolerated, isn't posting blatantly fradualent or false info/claims disrespectful to EVERY member who comes to this forum for honest topics/discussions over a common passion?

 

So now the thread is gone. Good. It seems sort of obvious that it was not a sincere post, so it should be out of here.

I didn't feel "disrespected" at all, if anything I was entertained. The fact that this guy would make a post like that without anything to back it up other than the promise that he was a good player was pretty funny.

Hey, I kind of enjoyed the guy getting grilled on some of his comments as well. I guess I am a little mean spirited, but if I was a mod and someone came to me saying they were being mistreated after they posted some ridiculous post like asking for sponsorship money, I would laugh at them and tell them tough sh@t.
