Hello, please excuse my ignorance, however, I'm having trouble understanding the For Sale forum rules. Is one allowed to bump their post back to the top or is this forbidden?

a bump does a FS post no good...they are 'anchored' by the time and date they were started...

Bumping your posts doesnt work, they are in order of when they are originally posted.

#14. Members are allowed one listing per 30 days of a particular item and one listing per 24 hours (i.e. no listing of an item, selling it, closing the ad and starting a brand new one a few hours later).

You may want to establish some credibility and a rep as a trustworthy individual with some solid posting before you sell. Either that, or post your eBay ID if you have a lot of positive feedback. New members with low posts is a red flag for a lot of buyers on here. Sorry, but there were unscrupulous people on this site from time to time that make buyers more gunshy about purchasing from someone without a good history on them.

i believe you can "bump" your FS post to the "Important Topics" which show up first above the "Forum Topics" if you pay a nominal fee (i think its $5).

 

others, please correct me if i'm wrong.

People get a little butt hurt about the BST rules as a lot of new people just don't take the time to read them first. Like if a new guy list something and there is one thing that doesn't go along with the rules you will have like 3 people copy paste the rule on your post. Just read the rules and if you have any questions just ask a mod not the general community as you will get a lot of remarks that sound offensive but probably just being sarcastic.
