Phil Mickelson has posted the lowest 36-hole total of his career to take a six-shot lead at the halfway stage of the 5.3 million-dollar BellSouth Classic. The 15-year PGA Tour pro indicated he has hit form in perfect time for next week's US Masters by adding a seven-under 65 on Friday to his course record-equalling 63 for a tournament-record 36-hole total of 16-under 128.
