Softest midrange price ball

I am probably one of the cheaper golfers on this site. So i want a really soft ball with some good distance in a mid range price tag. Any suggestions will be great. i am not stuck on a brand i will play almost anything. Thanks :rolleyes:

I already tried those and didnt like them that much. Tons of distance but it felt tads better than a top flite when putting. Thanks for replying so quickly.

Try the taylormade burner TP. Feels quite soft and performs quite well for me. Maxfli Tour fire and Nike PD soft are also possible options IMHO.

The low-compression Wilson Fifty might just be what you're looking for. It has a VERY soft feel at impact & off the putter with better-than-average greenside control/spin for a 2-piece "value" ball.

Lots of great suggestions. What about the srixons? I thought those were supposed to be pretty soft feeling.

I've been playing Srixon Zstar and ZstarX as of late and they're the softest putting ball I''ve come across. My wife just bought Srixon Lady Soft Feel balls, they're as soft and putt as nice as my Zstars. So I'd guess the Men's Srixon Soft Feel balls would be just as nice.

i would say the callaway bb diablo is the softest ball to putt with, ive never felt anything like it and it will spin a bit around the greens and none off the tee. it is under rated and has the most unique feel of any ball on the market imo! :rolleyes:

+1 on the Taylormade TP Red. A premium ball for mid-range price. If you can still find the Precept U-Tri Tour ball, those are nice as well. Also, you may still find the 08 version of the Nike One Black/Platinum for around $30. If you have a swing speed around 90 mph, you can try the Bridgestone E5+.

There's an article in the February 08 edition of Golf Magazine detailing all the golf balls from last year. The May 09 Golf Digets Hot list doesn't have the Platinum.

 

Thatt all said, those three golf balls are pretty close in terms of feel. It's all personal preference at that time. I prefer the TM Reds

Those sound pretty soft. Do they have any distance though? or spin?

The zips seem to be really long off of the irons and wedges for some reason. Off of the driver they aren't a rock flite by any means but they are longer than some of the other premium balls. If i recall they are a 0 compression ball! Never heard of that before.

I think they have reviews of that ball on here. Check it out. It is honestly the softest ball that I have played and I have played pro v, nike one platinum, black and golf, cally tour ix, wilson fifty, you name it. I don't get huge spin with them like I do with the platinums but that is a good thing because I tend to over spin my full wedge shots. For $20 they are worth a try. If you do end up trying them let us know what you think.

+1 for the TM Burner TP LDP.

 

Feel just as soft off the putter as many of the premiums to me. I was testing them today against the Pro V1x, Callaway Tour Ix, Nike One Black, and B330. They go long, check and stop on the greens (even back up some) and are pretty durable.
