Bettinardi BB1

Since acquiring my SC TEI3 Newport sole stamp it has been hard to even look at another putter let alone test drive one :D , however being I only want to use my baby on only the most dry and sunny days and not expose her to wet weather or crappy courses and seeing I want her to stay her original finnish I decide to hire a stunt double so to speak, a surrogant warrior!

However it happens to be the creation of Scotty's rival :stop: it's a Bettinardi BB1!

Aside from being a slight bit heaver and a tad more crisp when struck it seems like they are very much alike, design, feel, balance, etc.

Though the Bettinardi does not appear like it will rust as easy and seems like it will take a little more abuse than her pampered sister and for a $120.00 the price seem right.

Has anyone seriously compared the style designs of the two? They are really similar with the acception of the insert on the TEI3. I would like to hear your thoughs and opinions.

Don, I know we have been talking about your BB1 over the phone, but here is a little more information. Bettinardi milled all of the Camerons from 1992 to 1998. So all of the old oil cans and terriliums were made out of 1 block of steel just like Bettinardi's current putters. So your TEI3 was made by Bobby out of soft carbon steel and that is why your BB1 you just bought feels like your older putter. I hope this helps.

All the Oil Cans? Even the Napa Oil Can. That would be great news to me. What about the gun blues? Did RJB mill those too? I'm currently playing an Oil Can Napa until the SB3 comes out. You know about my preference for carbon steel. Eventually I will buy a carbon steel BB2 from you. I just need to stop buying other stuff for about 5-6months.

Toby, all the oil cans, gun blues, TEI3 and etc. were all made by Bobby from 1992 to 1998.
