Callaway Diablo Fairway

need some help. Calling all Diablo owners

So here's the deal. I bought a Callaway Diablo 15* at Dick's Sporting Goods yesterday (12/10/09) and for the life of me I cannot find a serial number on the club. I have a Hyper X bagged so i know Callaway normally prints the number right near the hosel on woods. My question is this to anyone who owns a diablo fairway wood or driver or might know the answer, does the diablo series have a different location for the serial number, no serial numbers printed or is this just a counterfeit?

This is my first topic so sorry if its in the wrong forum. Also, I shopped at Dick's because its the closest trusted retailer listed on the Callaway website.

My Callaway FT-9, Diablo 3W, and Diablo hybrid all came from a trusted retailer (Golftown in Canada) and none of them had serial numbers. When I asked, I was told that's the way it is. I found it odd because I knew some of the models they had for sale in the store had serial numbers, but when I looked again, not all of them did.

Weird, but what can you do?

and then they make what seems to be quite a few clubs without. If their CS wasn't so spectacular...

if you recently bought it, the callaway sticker at the end of the shaft near the head has the item number which also serves as the serial number.

getting the serial numbers etched cost money, so i believe callaway went cheap and only put serial numbers on the ft series and their irons.

i figured this thread was dead, but if anyone was interested i got an email response from them a day later (12/11/09) and follows:

"In response to your inquiry, at this time Callaway is only serializing
the 3 woods in our fairway wood lines. As such, a Big Bertha Diablo 3
wood will have a 10 digit serial number etched into the heel of its
clubhead and other models will not. Your Big Bertha Diablo fairway wood
can be registered without a serial number by leaving the serial number
field blank."

so only a club mark 3w or 3 will be serialized, mine is mark 15* therefore will not be

I guess even Callaway knew the Diablo line was going to be such a sales dud that no one would bother making fake copies of the clubs.
