At least this was not sudden and Tiger had some time...I am glad he took time off to be with his Dad. His dad will have a great aerial view of many more Major's to come.

Like so many in the Golf community, in the beginning I had the narrow, short-sided, uneducated view that Earl Woods was a man using his son to find glory. Through the years, as I've seen the interaction between Tiger and his son, and as I've read more about this man, I've come to find just how uninformed I was. Earl was a man who not only saw greatness in his son, but saw the contributions he could make to the world of golf and the gifts that Tiger could bring to the whole world. The true impact of Earl's life might never be truly appreciated by all, but will never be forgotton. I wish my father had been half the man Earl was, and I can only hope that in some small way I can have that same impact in the lives of my children.

My thoughts and prayers are with Tiger and his family at this time.
