Pretty cool. They have waitresses that come and bring you food\beer. The targets are concentric circles that the closer you hit, the better you score. Two levels so you can tee off from up high if you prefer.

The balls are purchased after you get a card, so when you get your bucket of balls, the computer knows they are yours. You put them through a sensor before you hit them (easier than it sounds), then the on screen computer keeps your score for whichever of the various games you choose to play.

Rental clubs are cheap there, but I brought my own.

I live 5 minutes away and its a great place.

Huge two-tiered driving range that is a combo of darts and skee ball. They have approx 10 green quadrants where you hit balls into. Each ball has a micro-chip that you activate through putting in the ball holder at your stall and when the ball lands in one of the green quadrants it tells you exactly how far it went. You can play about 6 different games where each stall has a computer screen that keeps your score.
Balls are usually in good shape and travel about 10% less than normal balls.
If you want to work on your game seriously, this is not the place to do it.
If you want to take your girl, family or buddies out for a few beers, food and golf than this is your place.
Great place that is always a good time.

Thanks for the info! I have some free games and don't want to go by myself. If I go with someone else can the balls I get from my freebies be used by the other person and keep accurate scores?

Once you get the balls they will have your information on them...Once you pass them through the ball holder sensor your name come up on the computer screen...so if you are playing with a friend you need to get them a card so they can have their own balls w/their info on them...If you just want to hit balls and dont want to keep score thats fine as well.

I love top golf. It's a ton of fun to go do with your friends, since you can definitely get competitive with a few games and eliminate the luck factor. Obviously, friendly wagers make it a bit more interesting :D

One game is called Top Score, and you just try to get into the target areas and gain points. I play by calling which target we're going after (95 yards, 125 yards, 150 yards etc) and editing the scores if it goes into another target diablo.gif The other I prefer is Top Pressure, which is pretty much like darts with a golf club. My girlfriend hates this game because she can't consistently get into the back area of the target (can't ghetto roll into the rear of the target ;) ) and I'll wear that game out with my lob wedge.

Not: a place for improving game.

Hot: a place to have fun and play golf without 'playing golf'

A bag of left-handed junk.

Small targets 30 yards away, then approximately at 60, 90, 125, 160, 190, and then the back net at about 240. Since you are hitting off mats to the targets, it's not like driving range practice, but I use it to really hone in the accuracy on my iron shots. My kids and I chuckle when we get out on a real golf course and have a shot into a green and we tell each other that we need to put this one inside the "7 point ring". While it is more social than golf for most folks there (kind of like skeeball, bowling and golf combined), I think you can do some fairly serious work on you iron game there.
