Carbite Putters

Does anyone out there use a carbite putter? Does anyone on tour use one?
Are they still in business.

My friend has one and i borrowed it for a couple weeks and was ripping up the greens with it. I would like to get one like it, but can't seem to find the model i want on e-bay. Any help would be appreciated.

Are we talking Carbite? Carbide is an extrememly tough metal used for machining, no?

 

I DO have a Carbite putter that I love. Used it since 2000 and have no desire to really switch to anything else. ZG series mallet I bought from Golf USA the same time I got my irons.

I have some heads sitting around the shop. What model are you looking for? The ZG was one of the best ever made for large sweet spot and good roll.

great1putt, do you happen to have some head weight info on the ZG mallet? I got mine in 2000, as I think the design has changed a bit since then. Any help is appreciated.

I have one head in the DB model sitting here on my desk. It weighs in at 334 grms. Not shafted or anything.

Carbite went under a couple years ago. They have been bought out now and they are trying to mount a comeback but have alot of issues.

If you want this head you can have it for a 20 spot.

Sorry for the late reply...I have three heads here and 1 shafted job....2 lefties at 318 and 323 grams and one right hand at 337 grams. These are not made anymore and were only made for three years. Their weights used to flucuate all over the place like these but they are a sweet roll because of the weight distribution that the TV Antennae being made today can't match. I do have a pretty clean one I shafted and has a Lamkin dual density grip that is pretty sweet rolling sitting on my rack. The shafted one on my rack weighs in at 338 grams. Hope this helps.

switched from ping anser 2 to carbite zg mallet with a 2006 Odyssey grip and have yet to find a putter that performs better. Consistently I try everything looking for the next holy grail and the only thing so far that I have considered is a new Odyssey two ball blade.

I have a Carbite Tour Model finished in blue. I cut it down to 31 1/2 ", added a Winn AVS puttter grip. I would not trade for ANY putter made ! This thing is awesome !

I've had two Carbite mallet putters. A ZG and now the 07 TRI. Best putters on the planet imho. I was stunned to learn a couple of years back that Carbite went OOB. So thrilled with my TRI mallet putter that I never bothered to look for a newer model. Hard to improve on perfection.

Just put the ZG mallet back into the bag. Combined with the chrome soft ball, putting has just become a lot more predictable. Anyone have left handed Carbite ZG mallet that they're looking to sell? I'm up in Toronto, Canada.

have owned and still use carbite db polar balanced since 1997/98....best thing since sliced bread
