Snow in Houston...again!?!

What in the name of jack frost is going on!?! I work in The Woodlands north of Houston and when I left work today it was snowing like crazy (relatively speaking). This is the second snow we have had this winter. If you dont live in the Houston area, you may not know or care about this, but for those of us who live here this is very unusual. This uncharacteristically long winter is messing with my golf game.

I play (member) at Augusta Pines. The greens don't know whether to be green or brown. The low areas won't dry up. I am ready for warm weather green grass and decent lies in the fairway.

At this moment we are 18 days, 6 hours and 41 minutes until Daylight Savings!! It can't get here fast enough!!

well this winter alone has been pretty cold. considering its normally steaming hot/humid 340 days out of the year. too bad the snow didnt make it down my area.

I just flew back to Denver from Houston on Monday. I'm certainly glad I was able to enjoy the 70*+ temperature for a round on Sunday. But at least your snow will be gone right away, our 8 additional inches here in the Neb. panhandle are going to be here for a while. By the way, April Sound is in terrible condition, hardly any grass at all on the greens, most of the dirt however is running a good 12 on the stimp. Oh well, back to the simulator.

Here in Dallas we are about an inch from setting a record for a single season snowfall. Its crazy man. Gotta be the coldest and wettest winter I have ever experienced.

I'm in Arkansas and it's definitely been a cold and crazy winter and I can't wait for it to end. Last few years were extremely mild and I guess I got spoiled because I never went more than a week without playing golf but this year I went almost a month. If it hits 45 I'm playing tomorrow.

Had a good 4-5 hours of snow in Austin as well.. supposed to be sunny and in the 50s tomorrow.. so will try and play 9 holes during lunch break.

I'm in Central New Jersey, we still have alot of snow on the ground from the last 2 storms which dumped about 3 feet on us. On Thursday we are getting 12" to 18" of more snow. I hit my last golf ball the last weekend of October, looks like another month without golf, 5 months in all. Usually we don't get much snow at all, so this really sucks!

Well looks like we are gonna be up to about 50 today. Sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. Im gonna hit the range today. Ive never played AP but that is where I go whenever I want to spend several hours practicing. With that nice chipping area and putting green, you cant beat it for $8 all you can hit.

Yea, I love it when I have the time to just work on my short game for hours at a time there. Plus, I have many good friends there. I don't live close to AP, but I wish I did. It'd be hard for me to spend too much time there.

You must be further north than Houston. I have played all but one weekend. However, sometimes the temps were around 40, with wind and occasional rain. I have a cart cover and a heater I use when necessary. It makes it a little more bearable to play with the weather we've had. Long term forecast is showing a return to the upper 60's and 70's here starting the middle of next week! I hope that's when we turn the corner and stare Spring right in the face. Lows no lower than middle 50's and highs in the 70's and lower 80's!!!

 

As of this moment, we have 17 days, 12 hours and 41 minutes until Daylight Savings!!! Yes!!

It snowed for about 30 minutes yesterday near me. Pretty good sized snow flakes too. Of course they melted instantly when they hit the ground. I miss the extreme heat of the summer at this point LOL.
