I am looking for new irons and need help
Hello eveyone. I'm new to these boards and would like everyone's input on a new set of irons. I have heard only good things about Mizuno and think I am going to go with them for my new set of irons. I am currently playing Callaway x-16's and I am really wanting more feel with my irons. At first I thought the MX-23's were the way to go to ease myself into more of a blade with feel, but will I be able to tell a difference at all in size and feel with these, or should I go with the MP-32's to get more feel? I am currently a 10-12 handicap (not sure), but I shoot in the mid tolow 80's and occasionally the 70's. Irons are my only glarring problem. Thanks in advance to everyone for your advice.

Im about the same skill level as you, except it seem like your irons are your weakness. For me, my irons are probably one of my strengths and my short game is terrible, but I play mp-30's and they work awesome for me. There are some advantages and disadvantages to each iron.

Mp-32's:

Advantages-

- clean blade look

- workability

- may help you become a better ballstriker

- higher coolness factor

Disadvantages-

- not as forgiving

- could lead you to be very frustrated

- Cost more (i think)

- harder to hit straight

MX-23's:

Advantages-

- VERY forgiving

- very straight, almost point and shoot

- thick topline and cavity for confidence

- still relatively workable

Disadvantages-

- Can look bulky

- Not as workable

- Low coolness factor (I mean, they're "game improvement" irons)

So I think the best thing to do is to go and demo both. I did that with the mp30s and mx-23 and actually found the mp-30s more forgiving because i thinned every shot with the mx-23, but after i bought mp30s i found that the mx-23s were much more forgiving. However, the mp30s have raised my game to another level and made me a much better ball-striker.

Thank you all for your advice. Thank you zojo for being so in-depth, this is very helpful. I will demo them, but I am really leaning towards the MP-32's because I want a club that will make me continue to make better swings and really make me groove my swing. Thanks again.

yeah, no problem. I had the same dilemma before the mp-32s. It was between the mp-30s and the mx-23s. I actually wanted the mp30s cuz they looked so much cooler, but the mp30s made my ball striking a ton better. Sure, there were a few bumps in the road, i wanted to change sets a couple times to mx-23's or mx-20s, but after sticking with it the mp30s have been my babies. I love them and can hit them great, and they tell me when i don't hit them right too :vava:

Godd post zojo. Don't forget the 23s have quite a bit more offset :vava:  The 23s and 32s r really 2 totally diff. irons. If u can wait the MP-60s would be a great choice.

Yeah I hear that the MP-60's will be a great club, but I really wanted something that would make me swing the club better, so I decided to go with teh MP-32's to get away from cavity back. Im really excited to make the change and have the challenge. I hope I like them as much as you love you MP-30s zojo :D

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
