Golf sandals?

Does anyone around here wear them? A few friends on mine do. I just bought some Bites but haven't used them yet. Just wondered what other opinions might be.

The Bites are great! I encourage everyone to go out and get a pair. I have a pair of the Slingshots and the Xtensions. ;) Plus two pair of Footjoys.

I have a pair and wear them sparingly. They are nice in hot weather, but they do tend to get imbedded with sand or other course debris, at times. I hear you're suppose to wear them with socks, but pa-leeeeze...they are so unattractive with socks..and not all that attractivw without.

 

I also feel my feet tend to be a bit less steady with the Bites. Good for when you're fighting blisters or it's really hot..otherwise, I'll be wearing my Footjoys...

I work at a private country club and golf sandals are allowed. I've never seen any of the men wear them, but a good sum of the women wear them. I work in the pro shop so can't wear them when working, but when I'm playing on the course, it's definitely doable.

Considering my golf course is watered with "effluent" water...I just can't see exposing my feet too much.

I've noticed when my spikes are worn down and I don't have such solid contact that I get cramps in my calves when hitting, I think my feet tense up to "get a better grip". I think sandals would be bad for me.

I do, however, love my Bite Golf A/C shoes, they are a mesh-type fabric and keep my feet cool.

I still have tan spots on the top of my feet from where the opening of the sandals are. This is going on three years since i have wron them. Now they occasionally get used for mowing the lawn.

Pretty strong feelings against the sandals here. Looks like the idea I had to get a pair is not a highly accepted one.

Big surprise, I have a pair and wear them about a third of the time.

 

I wear them to actually not look like a tool-off the course. I hate the 'golf shoe tan line' when I hit the beach.

 

I guess I missed the memo when golf became a fashion show.

 

I actually play one round in <Gasp> flip-flops this year, actually it turned out to be one of my better rounds that month. After arriving at the course i realized i had forgotten my golf shoes and was only wearing flip-flops.

Where I live, it's typically in the upper 90's to lower 100's during the summer so I wear them a majority of the time at my local course. The only problem is it makes your feet look like a checker board when you're not wearing them.
