Hello all:

Thanks for the comments people. @ gsteitz - I think the 845S (steel) irons sold for $199 - $299. The 845BC (beryllium copper) irons did not retail for the same amount. The BC's were a limited edition option.

Thanks

Didn't even catch that they were BC. Have actually never see/heard of those, NICE! Would have expected them to be a bit more.

These are the type of bags that scare me. An up to date .83 COR driver (meaning you take advatage of technology where it helps), an older fairway (meaning its a trusted CANNON subtly disguised as simply an older club) and irons and wedges that have some miles on them but are a tried and true favorite of many. You sir are not the guy I approach on a slow day on the course and attempt to wager with! great setup

afbrad1113,

Do you mind if I use this, this is a quote that I would love to use on the course. "You sir are not the guy I approach on a slow day on the course and attempt to wager with!". We have some old guys at our courses that play every morning no matter the weather and some of them have 20 year old clubs in the bag and some older than that. I'm talking about doctors, lawyers just plain ole old school guys.

These guys scare me but I love playing with them. They are down the middle all day long and on the green in regulation most of the time and shoot their age often.

Thanks for the words afbrad1113 but I'm hardly the "guy" you described in the aforementioned entry. I've hit most of the new stuff out there and my old stuff still holds it weight (and then some). The irons are super forgiving and extremely soft. I would go as far as saying that the 845BC irons feel waayyy better than my Callaway X-14 PS irons and they are very close to my Mizuno MP-14 irons when struck properly. Thanks for the thoughts.

Go right ahead my friend! Bags with a relatively new driver but older irons/wedges/putter are the kiss of death in the hustlin world. I'm a ho and my clubs change frequently but I know that if you want an almost sure thing that a guy is a baller, find the bag with the beat up blades (usually dime sized sweet spot wear)or well used cavities, that's not decked out head to toe in the latest puma gear and quietly goes about his day. These are the dudes that have absolutely waxed me haha! OP, don't sell yourself short. You've found what works for you and stuck with it. Lord knows my visa bill (and wife) wishes I had done that loooong ago.

Oh I forgot to mention they will get in fist fights over a couple of dollars! I do mean a couple of dollars. This is my edit. We also have a big game that is played where thousands of dollars could be exchanged and all of them do not have the latest and greatest.

Oh, man... i love those irons. They were my first "good" set i got when i was 12. I had a set of those that i got for $100 in the used bin. I could hit the snot out of em. One of the all time greatest irons i think. When my club pro was fitting me with mizuno's, i asked him if they should feel the same. They ARE really, really, soft!

Truly awesome set of irons.... I wore out two sets of the steel version, had no idea they made a BC version. And yes that is a betting man's nightmare bag, old but top notch set of irons, a trusty fairway metal (mine was/is the steelhead) and the 588's for wedges. If they were the raw version and you had an old Anser or 8802 for your putter, you'd be in danger of getting kicked off the course just for suspicion of gambling. :)

I had that 3-metal. What an absolute beauty, keep rockin it. I never should have "upgaded", could do magical things with that and an old true temper graphite shaft.

Hello

Thanks for all of the positive comments. I appreciate the feedback. Its also nice to know that there are people out here who know about quality equipment. The 3 wood is definitely an oldie but goody. Shape-wise, there is nothing it can't do.
