What's my Hogan Apex persimmon worth?

Hello, I conducted a search, and found zero! Now I need advice from the crew who knows! I have a Hogan apex persimmon in like new condition just sitting around. Is it worth anything these days. I had a club builder put a UST graphite shaft in it when new, was that a mistake? Any info., or help, would be appreciated.

Unfortunately the Hogan name is virtually dead. That is for most of the general public. However, there are plenty of Hogan enthusiasts on these boards.

I own a set of 1988 Redlines and 2003 Apex Plus irons in great condition. I tried to sell the Redlines on here once.

 

When I look at prices on Ebay etc. it's obviously a buyer's market.

 

Specific to your question about your Apex persimmon I presume it is a driver. I'd be interested in what model it is. Maybe post a picture?

 

Anyone who would be interested in it as a collector would most likely want it with the original steel shaft.

 

Now that it has a graphite shaft, I'd say you'd be better off just playing with it and enjoying it!

I purchased a 4 and 5 wood last year, new with plastic on the grips, never hit for $10 each. As I'm sure others will comment, it's worth what someone is willing to pay but I wouldn't expect a lot. As to the shaft, I don't know that it hurts but it would probably be better if it was a Hogan graphite like the Apex Gold or Legend graphite shaft.

Thanks, and I will dig it out and find what model it is. I would hate to hit it with todays hard balls, but playing it seems like a cool idea! Can I host a pic on here? Guess I will look that up!

Not much of a market any more for persimmon. Even the classics, the Tommy Armour's, etc. Have plummetted in value. The Hogan woods were great, but to most collectors they would rate a step below the Tommy Armours.

And keep in mind, this comes from a big fan of Hogan clubs, and someone with 8 or 10 (haven't checked the garage in a while!) persimmon drivers, which I will not part with at current market prices.

As others have said not having the original steel shaft also hurts the value.
