these tracks are not the best if you ask me

here is what i would do

Play the Raven when you come in good track

the day you are playing 36 at dove valley play your afternoon at legends trail it is 3x the course and in the afternoon around 2 you should be able to get in there at about 40-50 bucks.

I would bring a laptop and use golf now when you get here. booking tee times more then 3 days out in AZ is worthless you are paying the out of town rates. When you are coming it wouldnt be that hard finding a time.

Courses I would check on golf now

Talking Sticks
Kierland

both have cheap replay rates so for the price of 2 somewhere else you could play these prestine courses for less

longbow
sanctuary
Rancho Manana

all these are tracks I would check. maybe even vista verde. Karsten is a tough course and sometimes crowded. it isnt bad for the money very thick rough. Gold Canyon is overated for the price. I would do a 36 hole deal at greyhhawk, talking sticks or troon north and I bet it will come out to similar in price or even WE KO PA I know you could get out there for the same as gold canyon better tracks and less drive. That sindwinder course at gold canyon should be burnt down and dinasour couldnt hold a shot if you stood in the middle of the green and dropped a ball from your knees.

Save your money at those other tracks.

whatever you do play legends trail in my thoughts for the money it is the best track in the valley. If you play there let me know I may join you and get you guys the resident rates.

You can skip all those.

If you're looking to do 36 a day here's my picks:

If you guys are going to play Dove Valley, I also recommend skipping over to Legend Trail for the afternoon round with a twilight rate. I love the back 9 at LT.

If you want to play Raven @ South Mtn, pair that with the better Legacy right next door.

All 36 at We-Ko-Pa. Could be pricey, though.

Eagle Mountain and nearby SunRidge Canyon.

Both courses at Talking Stick.

36 at Grayhawk is overrated for the price.

Sanctuary and nearby TPC Champions course (more fun that the Stadium and much cheaper). Sanctuary is almost always running golf and lunch specials.

Raven or Legacy are better suggestions for close to the airport.

Apr 13th - Dove Valley (36)
Scratch this play 36 at vista verde 45-50 on golf now$
14th - Gold Canyon (36)
good course worth leaving
15th - Trilogy at Vistancia (36)
Decent but play Golf club of Estrella instead (not the muni) played for $45 last week
16th - open day..... Really suggest getting the wekopass and playing 36 at wekopa, you wont reget it one bit.

Total cost with room $570.00

To throw in my $0.02

Coming from Canada for your first taste of Arizona golf, you should really experience some courses that are unique to the Arizona landscape. That said, one piece of advice, take more balls than you think you would ever need. Lots of target golf. Drink more water than you think you would ever need as well.

Raven @S. Mountain, Superstition Springs, Orange Tree, Stonecreek - Other than palm trees, not much Arizona flavor there; in fact, all thoses courses could be in Florida.

Gold Canyon however, will give you a taste of Arizona. The Dinosaur Mtn course is superior, Sidewinder is OK as a throw in for the second round, play a better ball match in the afternoon after a few beers at lunch - more fun and you won't have to spend a lot of time looking for balls.

$60 - $80 rounds: Rates are coming down, but still >$100 at the well known resorts. If you are willing to wait until the day before your round, you can usually pick off some bargains on GolfNow. Given that you want to play 36 a day, it is probably better to secure the times earlier. You can still find some great golf in that range.

If you wanted to splurge and play two of the best public courses in the state, the 36-hole We-Ko-Pa facility would be the highlight. The best part is these are courses that are not routed through housing corridors. The Saguaro course is a standout. That's going to eat your budget however.

Two good courses in the far west valley that would make a good 36-hole day, are the Golf Club Estrella and the Raven at Verrado. Estrella a bit cheaper for the morning round, Verrado better rate in the afternoon but these should meet your budget.

For arrival/getaway rounds near the airport - I would pick The Legacy over the Raven South Mtn. Cheaper options, not as "plush" would be Vistal or Papago.

Enjoy your visit!
