PING TOUR-W WEDGES

Looking at buying Ping tour-w wedges. I would appreciate your comments, pro or con. Anybody had the "grind options" done? If so, type of grind and comments. Thanks

Was fit for PING G15 irons & looking at upgrading wedges as well, had CG11 & CG14 , so CG15 was a logical choice this year, had looked at both PING Tour-W & CG15 in shops, thought I liked the CG15 over the Tour-W. Went to two demo days that had PING and CG, Hit both, they had CG15's that matched by PING specs. For me the PING Tour-W blew the CG15 away, the PING Tour-W for me had a much better accuracy, & distance control and I was surprised I liked the overall total feel vs. CG15, I was going into these demo day weekends with my mind made up to go to CG15 based on several years expierence with CG11 & CG14, but bought PING Tour-W in 50*, 56* (bent 1* strong & 60*. As far as grinds, I went with the "TS grind" in the 56 & 60 and it performs well and I love it . Since you were asking about the grinds, you must have checked them out on the PING website. Go to some demo days, check them out and get PING fit. Hope this helps.

i play 51 56 and 61, the 61 with ts grind and 56 with bounce grind, they perform really well, i really don have any experience with other wedges so cant compare, but these work really well, they dont spin like crazy rather a nice check and nice feel, check the grind options on the web page.

i have a 50 with a b grind, a 54 with a t grind, and a 60 with a ts grind. first of all, i love the versatility of the grinds to be able to hit all the shots i need. they did an excellent job on the grinds. i like the black nickel finish as well. its subtle, but just dark enough to reduce glare. these wedges do not spin nearly as much as the vokeys or cg15s, but they have swirl milling on the face, and they do provide a controllable amount of spin and release on partial shots. they do not chew up balls at all either, which is a plus. they feel better than any other wedge on the market, in my opinion. not a clicky feeling at all. what sold me is the shape of the wedge. something about it just appealed to my eye so much more than anything else. i think it is how square the leading edge looks at address. that coupled with the white paintfill in the bottom groove gives me the confidence to just point and shoot with all my wedge shots. overall i am very pleased with these wedges in my first month of using them.

Great wedges. I have a bunch of them, and a whole bunch of Vokeys. Similar for sure, but 9 out of 10 times I'll put the Tour-Ws in my gamer bag, unless I decide to go with only a 52, instead of 50/54.

I have 3 of them (52, 56, 60) and am more than happy. With the stock grinds on all of them, and with the lower bounce options (on the 56 and 60) I find they work very well for my shallow angle of attack without digging excessivly in the rough on soft/damp ground like I seem to get with most of the Vokey's I have tried. Try em out, if you like them, give them a shot, if you are unsure of the grind options you can take a look on Ping's website where they have some info on them, talk to your local fitter about what you plan to use the wedges for and which grinds may help you, or just try them stock and see if you need any adjustments. You can always send them back to Ping to have the grinds done at a later date.

Love mine. Think I went with too little bounce considering the grinds (B on the 50, and TS on the 54 and 58 if I recall correctly.) If I had to do it over again, I'd go higher in the bounce with the same grinds. Love the feel, that they don't murder ball covers, and that the spin is very predictable. I've been auditioning some Tour Satin CG14's for my bag this year, and I've been missing my Tour W's at times. They might go back in the bag yet.

Nice wedges with that particular Ping feel. To me, the feel softer than any other cast wedge out there.

Just wanted to see which shafts you are using in your Tour-W wedges? I have used Z-Z65 and AWT in the past and in the higher lofted models (56 and 60), there doesn't seem to be a big difference.
