Hey guys. I have a quick question for you all.

I have a Hogan CS-3 9.5* Draw with the NV-70S. I have been toying with the idea of picking up an r5 to kick the Hogan out of the bag. I got the Hogan last year to replace my r7. When I hit the r7 pure, I hit is LONG, but the mis-hits were not forgiving at all. I feel as though I may be losing some distance with the Hogan but, when I hit it well, I don't miss. I hit the Hogan a ton and I have confidence with it. However, the grass is always greener....

I am a 4 Handicap, so I can pretty much handle anything that is apealing to my eyes. I am not interested in what gets more "Tour Play". I am interested in what works for me.

I know what my r7 felt like and maybe someone can compare the r5 to the r7

Basically, give me some input as to what you guys like and dislike about the CS-3 and the r5. I would be putting an NV in the r5 if I decided to pick one up.

***EDIT*** Let's add the 905t to the mix....

To me the R5 is a cant miss, I have a R5N and a R5TP and love both. Tehy are very long and super forgiving. In the R5N i am playing a Grafalloy Blue and in the R5TP i am playing a V2. if you prefer a square face i would go with the TP, if you like a closed face i would go with the retail R5N or super closed R5D, even then both are solid heads. The TP is lower launch then the retail head and combine that with 8.5 loft and a low to mid shaft it is a great combo to me. The N i have is 9.5 and with a low to mid shaft also, but seems to hit the ball higher but not balloning. hope this helps

the ben hogan launches amazingly high for the loft on it. my friend has a 9.5* one with a S aldila in it and i hit it way higher than my 983k 10.5* with reg. titleist shaft in it. id go with the R5, though, better feel, more dist, better all around especially if u like lookin at a bus at address!

agreed the hogan is VERY high. I tried the 8.5 and it was ballooning...i'd need the hard to find 7.5 LOL ill stick with my SMT :crazy:

I have a fairly low ball flight.. The 9.5 does not seem to go overly high for me...

get the r5 for sure. Just don't get the draw unless you REALLY need. I tried the draw and i usually hit a small draw...i could not get it to go straight or right. I tried to fade/slice it and it would not
