Love the lenses, hate the frames

I have a pair of Sundog Hunter Mahan signature sunglasses. The lenses are great. I actually putt much better when wearing them; however, the frames have no "traction" on my face and slip around when I swing. If I put them on my hat, off they come with the next drive. I have some Oakley's which never slip but I can't read greens nearly as well as with the Sundogs. Here they are:




Anyone have any alternative auggestions?

I am considering buying a different style of the Sundogs with the same lenses. Anyone have any Sundogs that stay put in hot and humid conditions?

I got the 8 Iron sunglasses when my old Callaway shades got sat on, and I really like the lenses. They have a darker tint than the ones you are looking at, but I recommend Sundog glasses a lot.

i have sundogs Bites that i love with the smoke mirror finish lens. they dont slip, but our heads maybe totally different

Id say just go to a store and try some other sunglasses out...
everyone seems to love their flak jacket with g30 lens for golf

i love my sundogs because they fit with my college budget....

by the way how do you like your lens.. which lens is it? im thinking of going to an amber/brown lens

I prefer NYX. Inexpensive, light in weight, and they work

I've got a pair of Sundog Bombs with the melalens that I love. They stay on securely and the lenses are fantastic.

They are the Gradient Brown Flash Mirror I'm fairly certain. The lens looks identical to the ones in the pic. They are great, like turning to an HD station. I got them in Atlanta and I haven't seen any in this area. My Dad has some Oakley's with the G30 lens and he and i both feel the Sundogs are way better...and alot cheaper, too!

Thanks, I saw the MelaLens on the Sundog site. Which MelaLens do you have? There is a brown shade that looks like the same lens I have but I wasn't certain if it would be the same. Mine make the contours of the green really stand out. They really don't darken things. Almost seems to make everything brighter but without glare.

Thanks, I like the look of the 8iron and The Bomb...probably more than the ones I have.

In case you want to try to save the HM ones:

If they slip off the nose, get rubber to adhere to the pads.

If they slip from the ears or sides of your head, get the temples adjusted. You need to heat the plastic and gently bend. Take them to lenscrafters, they'll adjust any pair for free. Heck, tip 'em if they do a good job.

Love the sundog set i have although they aren't the HM. Similar to the ones you have, i have a pair of callaway glasses that never slip off my face or hat. similar style, i assume similar effectiveness.

I bought some sundogs several years ago and the set has lasted a while, use them for grass cutting etc now. I have a pair of callaways I use now with the neox lenses that I like better and they don't slip off.

I wore nothing but Maui Jim for the last five years, but I picked up a pair of Sundogs for $60 on vacation a few months ago and I like them better than the MJ. I do not have the Hunter Mahan style and they stay on very well. May sure you get the Melalens. Some Sundogs do not come with the Melalens.

i have the "brown flash mirror" melalenses in my bombs. i don't even feel the need to take them off while putting. at first i wasn't sure about how effective they would be, but i definitely feel that they relieve eye stress/fatigue. i actually like them a lot better than my maui jims while on the golf course.

Not really for me, the frames are really bulky.
