Thinking about switching to a mixed set of AP2's and 710 mbs

Wondering were to start the mbs...

I love my AP2s but I kinda miss my 680s every now and then and I LOVE the new 710 MBs. I've noticed a lot of pros are switching to mixed sets. I'm just wondering what is the consensus of when the mbs should start? I was kind of thinking with a 7 or 8 iron? Let me know your thoughts.

Something around the 3-iron? Then see if you can acquire the much fabled AP2 2-iron .

I am speaking in generalities now because I cannot remember all the details, but my first "Combo" set was the Ram Fx Forged ProSet. (Great clubs with green paintfill)i think I remember they started the MB's @ the 8 iron and I always wanted more blades in the set. I then went on to Play MP-14's for 6 or 7 years and used a Grad MP 2 iron to fill out the set. I also played Nick ProCombos and 735CM's and they too started the MB's to late in the set. I played some TA-3/TA-1 Cleveland self made combos and had the MB's start at the 6 iron and I always liked that and I recently put CG1 Tours into play and they have 3/4/5 CB's and 6 - PW MB's and so far so good. I think that if you are blade player and like the look that is the best starting point. IMO

If you play 4-PW i would get

4,5,6 - AP2
7,8,9,PW - MB

That's the set i've considered getting for now i just have the blade PW though.

Right now i'm gaming 4-6 CB and 7-PW MB and am loving it. I don't know if the AP2 would blend as well but Rory Mcilroy certainly has made it work. They are both great clubs.
