Nervous!!!

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this......I have not played golf in 15 years due to some incredibly bad people trying to shape me into a perfect golfer. At that time I was good, not great, I had only played for two years but had great results! I recently received the Mizuno mx-100's from my husband a couple of months ago, and I love them and am hitting very well. I have not hit the course yet, but have made a deadline to play on August 1st . I am a woman and am 37, I love the game but am worried about what the people behind me will be like if I end up hacking up the course. As I said, I am hitting my Mizuno's very well, but again, nervous!!!! Any suggestions on how to overcome the jitters? My husband says to have a couple of beers before I go out LOL! (but that is his solution to overcome anything) again, LOL.

Stop putting it off and GO TEE IT UP! Youre making yourself more nervous by putting it off!! LOL. Forget waiting till AUGUST!

That nervousness will fade as soon as the first tee shot is over and you are riding (or walking) to your second shot.

[size="4"]Thats all it takes to get back into it.

And as for the people behind you, if you start feel like you are getting pushed or holding someone up, just let them thru- no problem! (I bet you wont hold people up though) and EVERYONE hits bad shots, and everyone starts or restarts somewhere. NO one is going to frown upon you because you arent an ace golfer.
You can try playing somewhere a little slower for the first time, too.

BUT the biggest advice I can give you is to go TEE IT UP. IM telling you, the ride to the second shot and all those jitters will be ancient history!

Lower your performance expectations for atleast a little while- that way you cant get mad at yourself, and GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUNNNNNNNN !

Welcome back to the game. Remember it is just golf. Go enjoy playing for just you. Fill out your group with people you are most comfortable with and then grip it and rip it, and have some fun. If that doesn't help, try some Amino Vital Focus Zone. It might just be in my head but it seems to keep me calm and reduce the nervous feelings....

You wont regret it !!

The first shot off of the first tee is the worst- then its OVER...

and you will want to play again on Sunday, I bet !

The worst thing you can do is put it off longer girl !

Have Fun !!!

Well, I did it! I went to a local course on Saturday with my husband, brother-in-law and a family friend. I do admit I was still nervous, but I have to say that all the advice I had received chilled down my nerves and I thank you all. I shot a 126 on 18 holes, but I only teed off at the ladies box 3 times. I didn't slow down play for anyone, the course was a little backed up anyway. The first shot was by far the worse (everyone in the clubhouse can see you), but after the shot, which went straight and had a decent amount of distance was done, I just had fun. And yes, I had a blast!!! I only lost 1 ball, and had to drop once due to losing the balls in some very thick rough. I had to tee off with my Mizuno 4 hybrid though because for some reason I could not hit my Alpha driver to save my life the days before. I think I need to replace it but I have no idea what a good driver for me would be. Again, I thank you all for your replies and I am back to loving the game!
G.
