Ping G15 Driver and Fairway Woods - Neutral or Draw Biased

Since the Ping i15 is designed for those with low to mid handicap while the G15 are classified more as "Game Improvement" clubs. Yet, there are many low handicap players play the G series instead of the I series.

 

For those of you who's play the G15 Driver and Fairway Wood. In your opinion, how did you feel the clubhead sets up (Neutral or Closed) and how was the ball flight (Neutral or Draw Biased). I would be interested to hear what others thought. Thanks.

The shop pro told me that the g15 is slightly closed. I'm not sure how much but I cant tell from address. The I is easier to work the ball so I would think that probably sets up neutral.

I ordered my g15 with a neutral face and feel like it sets up the same as my i15. And I don't find that I hit anymore draws or hooks with g15. When my swing is on it just wants to go straight or slight draw which is my normal shot. If I'm hooking the g15, I also hook the i15 with the same swing...ie any hooks or over draw I hit is result of my flaws and nit the club

IMO from personal use I feel like the fairways are somewhat draw bias but not the driver.

My G15 sets up half a degree closed to my untrained eye, but I don't hit crazy hooks with it. It just wants to go straight, or a slight fade actually. I even had my local pro hit the thing and he couldn't get more than a 10 yard draw out of the thing! Sorry, I haven't tried the G15 woods.

My driver and all three fairways are neutral.

Definite draw bias. I know that is not manly to admit on this forum.

To me some of them set up square to a hint closed. Wider faced drivers often do appear closed even when they are square.
Again the weighting is hinting towards the heel side. This is also for widebody drivers that place so much weight away from the shaft access, which helps to square the face.

For me the club just wants to go straight or draw a little when going after it more.

I play the G15 driver and 4 wood. To me, they set up neutral. I tried the ft 9 and diablo woods and now they set up closed.

My G15 driver is nuetral I do not play the fairway woods yet. But at the store the G15 fairway wood appears to have draw biased weighting

You can rummage through any shop's stash and find some that are closed, some that are neutral and a few that are open. So much also depends on the way they are actually painted. Where the black paint meets the top of the face has an incredible amount to do with how they look at address. I've taped out and scraped different paint lines in to change the appearance. I've also scraped the hosel paint away much like the TM paint break on several tour issue FW's to help the address position "look." The key, for me, is setting it down and seeing where the scoring lines point, then making my adjustments from there.

In the end, my G15 drivers are all about 1* open (measured) at address but have been altered to look even more so. I also believe they are neutrally weighted but that's not confirmed.
