curious to know how they stay in biz... whats the breaking point from sponsorship losses. is the saving grace tv? i like the product but i wouldnt pay for it and dont have to when they come to nj. just show your supermarket card and get in..i think its good golf but i wouldnt want to be backing it

The LPGA tour is definitely not in calm waters as they just lost CVS/Pharmacy as a tournament sponsor for 2011. [url="http://scoregolf.com/articles/news/2010/August/LPGA-Tour-to-Lose-Another-Sponsor"]http://scoregolf.com/articles/news/2010/August/LPGA-Tour-to-Lose-Another-Sponsor[/url]

I would hope the Champions Tour would go belly up first, but you are probably right the LPGA will go first. The Champions Tour must have some sort of support from the PGA. I certainly can't imagine what any sponsor would think they would get out of sponsoring a bunch of used to bes and a collection of country club pros that couldn't make it on the PGA tour.

There are allot of millionairs playing on the Champions Tour and few in the LPGA. That has to have some impact. Those use to be's are connected....

[twitter]LPGA will continue with reduce schedule that is more global. From a marketing perspective it would be good to know the demographics of their TV audience.

The Senior Tour is brutal to watch but has a strong following of men with high net worth and purchase decision power. Also, their libido must be good since Cialis spends a fortune buying time on all the tournaments.[/twitter][twitter]Test[/twitter]

LPGA goes first. I wouldn't accept money to go watch them play let alone pay money or spend time getting a grocery discount card. Same goes for WNBA...

You don't know what you are missing. I've gone to two CN Canadian Women's Opens. I've also watched multiple PGA Tour events. Great golf is great golf.

If the LPGA was ever in jeopardy of going under, I think with the huge influx of Asian female golfers emerging as superstars on the tour, that many of the big name LPGA golfers of today, Asian, American, any nationality, will migrate into Asia where some form of a major female tour will be formed. I don't think it would be a permanent home, if it ever happened, but it would be able to sustain a living for the top female golfers until the American backing improves. I actually enjoy watching most LPGA events. Paula Creamer sure doesn't hurt anything.

Me too. I follow the LPGA and the PGA TOUR both. I'd say an enthusiasm split would be 60% PGA and 40% LPGA. I haven't watched the Champions Tour for at least a couple of years. I have very little interest there. No interest in the Nationwide, other than I watch Golf Central and notice if they mention any rising stars about to go from the Nationwide to the PGA TOUR.

(BTW, I've been a Walking Scorer on the PGA TOUR, LPGA Tour, Champions Tour and Nationwide Tour. So I've seen all of them up close, inside the ropes, walking side by side with the players.)
