Sawgrass Sept 12-15

Wondering what the course conditions this time of year are at Sawgrass. Coming from Chicago and not familar with Florida conditions. Also, ill be playing the Valleys course and was looking for a quick review of what to expect. Still a good course even though it gets no attention with it's big brother next door? And were looking for other nice tracks to play in the area. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Play North Hampton, favorite course in North FL. Valley course is a great course, will be hosting a Nationwide Event only a month after your visit so it will be in great shape (better than Stadium that time of year). I enjoy playing the Valley Course more so than the Stadium. You will have a ton of fun.

When you say the Valley coures will be in better shape that time of year, does that mean the Stadium will be in rough shape or just that they will have the Valley in tip top shape for the tourney? Thanks for the other golf course tip.

Stadium isn't overseeded so while it will be in good shape the greens will be quite slow, especially compared to the Valley. Stadium is best played in the early summer and the Valley is best played in the winter.

i agree with iteachgolf, north hampton is a great course and a tough test when the wind is blowing.

You might also consider King & Bear at World Golf Village, Ocean Course at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, and Ocean Course at Hammock Beach. Those are three of the nicest courses in the area. I've played all three and TPC Sawgrass. Sawgrass is sort of an I was there course...with the exception of 8,9,16,17,18. Those five make up for the rest of the course. Of these four courses I think I enjoyed the Ocean Course at Hammock Beach the most.

Yep, both courses at Sawgrass should be in great shape that time of year. I've played both multiple times and it's true a lot of players prefer the Valley. I also agree with iteachgolf that North Hampton is one of the better courses in North Florida and one of the best bargains because of the relatively low green fees. If you like resort courses, you might want to check Amelia Island Plantation, they hae some good ones.

Oh, one more thing. VIP is also right in my opinion - I would highly reccommend the Ocean Course at Hammock Beach. One of most scenic in the state...
