Long Over Due - Serge HIGH MOI Brass Putter Review!

Well fellas, I apologize for this being such a long time coming, but unfortunately that is part of what you are to deal with when you work in a seasonal business in New England. Now this year more so then others I have not been playing much golf at all, and secondly my game is horrid. So enough about me and more about the purpose of this post.

Specs; - Head weight: 351g (350g requested)
- Lie: 71*
- Length: 35"
- Loft: 2.5*
- Swing weight: F1 (really!)
- Shaft: UST frequency Filtered
- Grip: Lamkin Crossline

FEEL:

Earlier this spring I was lucky enough to work with Serge on the creation of my own version of his High MOI Brass Blade Putters. First of all the putter is beautiful and the looks and feel of it are tremendous. The Brass offers a very unique feel for the putter with the ball coming off of the face, it is very interesting and unique – kind of soft but kind of different, but in a good way.

LOOKS:

Looks of the putter matched up with the UST shaft are tremendous the putter looks like it wants to make putts pure and simple. Serge got the paint fill for the putter as well as the stampings on the putter just to my liking and I couldn’t be more proud of this putter and all of the hard work that went into this.

PERFORMANCE:

On the short putts this putter just flat out works, it goes where you point it, a smaller easier version of Point and Shoot. This putter puts a phenomenal roll on the ball, unfortunately for me I can’t get the distance control down with this putter, which I attribute mostly to the fact that I haven’t been playing that much of late and unfortunately I cannot knock out the TP Mills from my bag, but when that goes sour I fully anticipate this putter to make a full and complete run at the starting rotation.

OVERALL:

I cannot thank Serge enough for his hard work and dedication in getting me a putter that suits my eye and my game. As I have said I think that this putter will be making the bag at some point either this fall or summer when I have a chance to play some more golf on a regular basis or when I am able to just simply get out on the practice green once in a blue moon. Serge makes a fantastic product and he is even better to work with. I wish him all the luck as he moves forward with his new CNC milling machine and I look forward to seeing more of his designs in the future!

Thanks for the review Matt!

 

As brass is a very soft but very dense material, the feel is a bit different from what you are used to. The distance control should take a little time, but will be well worth it in the end.
