Harder stainless not neccesarily bad

Initially, I wanted an Anser face balanced. but read that mallet is easier and could be better.

i wanted a 1 shaft offset, face balanced putter and found the Honma TM 3002 about 200 usd. Look wise its very clean. nice sightlines. great looking milled face. platinum satin finish.




Its made of the harder stainless. SUS 6XX and as a result, the feel is very crisp but not rock hard. Feedback is excellent. Much better than cameron X. You can feel exactly where the ball impacts the putter. I knocked them against some wall by accident and no marks on them. Not a bad putter material and very durable. Not sure if they can be bent.

Roll is what u expected of a good mallet. but to me, Nobody rolls better than Yes putters and Ping Craz-e(best sightlines ever).

I cut them to my comfortable 31.5 inch long and backweight them 70 grams as one of the clubfitter in golfwrx suggested in one of the swingweight posts and basically I now gree with his idea ( The witt) after a few week of trials. If u cut your putter, dont add weights to the clubhead but instead add backweights so that you wont spoil feel and get the same stability u required. very good advise. at this 31.5 inch length 72 * . gives me the most comfortable setup, swing and sight. At this length, my straight in straight out stroke is more natural too. Tried shorter 29 inch 74 deg but it became uncomfortable.

Not exceeding 340 grams in head by TP mills I think is very good advise too if u want distance control. Really helps with distance control.

I am also truely very thankful for the really superb information in this forum. Without which I will not know how to best optimise my specification.
