New GPS units

Are there any coming out for next year?

I recently lost my Garmin G5 unit at a local golf course. It was my fault, but where I think I lost it I think someone walked off with it. I really enjoyed it and want to get another one. I'm thinking since it's fall, I'll wait till next year to get one in case Garmin or any other new GPS comes out. I hate buying something and something better comes out a month later that I like more. Anybody hear of Garmin or any others coming out with a new one?

Can Garmin disable the unit similar to the Sky Golf? If so, be sure and let them know so the thief can't use the unit.

As some have mentioned on this board the market is probably due for some thinning. I think you idea to wait until spring is a good one.

UPRO is coming out with a new one. TOUCH SCREEN and no fees to purchase courses.

GolfGuru is supposed to be coming out with a new one around the holidays that is very similar to an iPhone in size and appearance.

Havent heard a release date yet. Will be called the UPRO MX and will retail for around $350 max.

When dealing with electronics, it seems like there's something better available for less before you get the "new" one home.

VERY VERY NICE.... I CAN'T WAIT TO TRADE MY UPRO GO FOR THIS ONE. don't get me wrong, the Upro GO is a great GPS, but it lacks some features like the entire hole layout which would be important if you are playing the course for the first time. This is the reason i didn't buy the Upro because i have a feeling that they will come out with a newer version. And sure enough, HERE IT IS... WOW, CAN'T WAIT. IT LOOKS MORE AWESOME THAN WHAT I HAD PICTURED IN MY MIND.

The new upro screen flips when you turn it, just like an iPhone. Looks pretty good.

Since uPro upscaled to touch-screen don't know why they didn't increase the screen size; this one looks like same screen size as existing units.

No, loved the G5. Just was seeing my options if I wait. When I was researching all the GPS units it was down to Upro and Garmin. I picked the garmin because of how tough it was, it was waterproof, it shows the complete hole and loved how you could touch a spot on the hole to see the yardage to that spot. But now seeing the new Upro I may have to see that one before I go back to the Garmin.

Where did that info come from? If that's true (and not sure that I believe that cally will bring their flagship gps out for that low when you see what other companies are charging) they'll start to take a lot of market share with that one.

i just spoke with my local store today, who had just seen the new uPro on friday. said the same thing, $199. in fact, i just texted him to verify. he says yes, $199, and also says 3/1 availability. not sure of the date though.

That's awesome. $200 for a top of the line GPS and no fees for courses, looks like I'll be getting rid of the Neo...even though that has been a great simple device for me. It still seems to good to be true, but hopefully they are just doing this to gain a lot of market share. I could never get myself to pay those crazy $300+ prices for the high end gps and considered jumping on the uPro for $180 recently but for now, I'll wait.

Is seems they are missing one feature that all smart phones that have touch screens are going to, BIGGER!!! My iphone is 3.5 in. and can see it with out glasses. This screen looks like it 2 inches. How can a touch screen that small be any good? I guess that's why it's $200...
