Playing and shopping in Naples

German golfer looking for nice courses and golf stores!

Hey everyone!

Im going to Naples for vacation from october 14th to October 22nd and I am looking for some great courses and a place for me to get fitted for a new driver and woods!
I've been to the area last year for the same amount of time, but i hope you have some "hidden gems" in store for me.

Courses i've played so far:

-Links of Naples (I played this on the first day to get started)
-Arrowhead (was recommended to me by a guy at Edwin Watts)
-Heritage Bay (nice design, great rate (25$ for 18 holes, a cart and a Pitcher of beer after he round)
-Old Corkscrew (another recommendation: What a course!!! (Although I shot 114 on my first visit there)

Courses I would like to play this time:

-Heritage Bay
-Old Corkscrew
-Olde Cypress (was closed for maintenance last year)
-Naples Grande (looks promising)
-Bonita Bay East
-LaPlaya (I'm staying at LaPlaya, but so far, the rate has kept me of)
-Tiburon
-anything you recommend (out of that list and what else you know!)

Furthermore im looking for a good place to get fit for a new driver and woods, i know of Edwin Watts and World of Golf on Tamiami Trail, are there other placed that i should check out?
Do you know of any place to get fitted with trackman or flightscope (and do you recommend that?)

I would recommend the Rookery on Marco Island, a very scenic course on the edge of the Ten Thousand Islands. Definitely Tiburon. If you want to drive north a little, to Port Charlotte, try Riverwood. It's definitely a hidden gem.

I would also recommend Tiburon and The Rookery at Marco. You may also want to check out Raptor Bay and the courses at the Lely resort. I know there is an Edwin Watts, Golf Galaxy, another small shop that I can't remember the name of that might be able to fit you for clubs. Have fun and it is a great time to play there with no crowds and nice weather. You may want to check with each course about overseeding and punching of the greens.

With a PGA South Florida Section Summer Pass membership (about $50) you can play hundreds of courses in Florida). If you come at the same time each year it would be worth the investment as one can play many courses for $30-$40. Good from May 1 thru October 31. You can't beat it.
