Another "Get-Together" Outing

As you know, we had our "get-togehter" outing at The Club at Shannondell, last Saturday. The course was in superb condition, although some leaves were in the rough area. The greens were absolutley pristine.

A few days before the outing, I had picked up another 4 members and another member said that he may have 4 members wanting to join. They were unable to make the outing due to late notice but have expressed interest in having another "get-together" outing for Saturday, Nov 13.

Remember, the outings are to discuss what features you want in the up-coming league. Some important issues need to be voted on.

For thoses that have given me their email addresses, I will sent this notice (and others) to you, via email.

Note: - To better communicate with league members & prospective league members, please send me your email addresses (thorugh PM). Many people do not check this forum frequently to get thier PM's and are missing on some announcements.
Also, if you cannot make the outing BUT ARE STILL INTERESTED IN THE LEAGUE, please let me know. If I do NOT hear from you within ten days, I will assume you are no longer interested and I will take you off the mailing list.

If you have interest in this outing, please inform me ASAP so I can get an accurate head-count. The course is yet to be determined, but will possibly be in the RT #422 corridor since that is centrally located for many members.

These are the current posted rates. Some courses may be in Winter mode and have not posted thoses rates yet.

Club at Shannondell - $50
Spring Hollow - $51
Turtle Creek - $65
Ravens Claw - $59

Other Courses:
Glen Mills - one of the best courses around - $95 till 12:00, then $65.
Wyncote - amazing links course in Oxford, PA - about 15 miles WEST of Kennett Square - $69
Broad Run - West Chester, PA - GPS in carts - Winter Rates - $54

As I said on Saturday, I am in for the 13th. Any of those courses are fine except Glen Mills unless its after 12. 95 dollars is a lot for me right now. Whatever of those courses is in the best shape we should play. I have played Ravens Claw, but that was in January so I am not sure what it looks like now.

I am 75% sure to be there.

Wyncote is really nice - the rough can be brutal -depends on how recently it had been cut

Broad Run is also great - love the elevation changes

Springfield CC should also be in the mix.

Also up in the 422 area is Hickory Valley (2 courses) have not played either but i think they are supposed to be good courses.

Wyncote looks nice, its a hike for me though 1.5 hours. I'm fine with something like that as long as its closer to me at some point.

This is a final notice about the "get-together" outing this Saturday at Turtle Creek. I have not heard back from 4 people from this forum. I am posting this for those that may have not received the PM I sent out. If you did not receive the PM, please notify me ASAP. We have 10 members slated to go for Saturday.

If you are still interested in the League, please let me know as we are now communicating via email.

As for the League, we currently have 23 members. The New Members Package and questionnaire results have been sent out (via email). Everyone is anxious for the league to start. Unfortunately, we have to wait until April.

Wow, those rates are low. I remember when Wyncote was over $100 a round.

I really like the track, but it's just so far from Montgomery county.

BTW, the league thing is really cool and I wish something like that was around 10-15 years ago when I was playing random public tracks every weekend. Unfortunately something like this doens't work for me now with a wife and kid.

I hope that all this enthusiasm carries over the spring for you guys and can keep those 23 and growing members. I remember what a struggle it was just to put together a one time outing. It started with about 20 people who expressed interest and, when it came down to it, we just had 7.
