HAMMER X vs CALLAWAY FT-IZ Real World Comparison

Hey all, my buddies and I are one of those who wondered how the HAMMER X really hit and I figured I'd share this video with you all since noone had previously made one. We are in no way affiliated with any of these companies, we are just regular golfers trying to make a helpful video. I can tell you that I have hit them both at the range and the results are similar! Ever wondered how the Hammer X really hits? Well I took a Hammer X out to Cedar Point Golf Course in beautiful Southern Maryland and compared it against a Callaway FT-IZ 8.5* Tour Driver. The Hammer X was only $50 vs the FT-IZ's $175 (both I picked up used on ebay) so for the money it wasn't too terrible. I could have maybe hit it a tiny bit further had it gone in the fairway. For the record my oobgolf.com handicap is right around a 14. Noone had posted a real world comparison, sorry for all the extra video but I didn't want to cut so that noone would think I manipulated the data. This is the only real world video test I've seen! Sorry for all the wind but the course is on the Chesapeak Bay and we we had a bit of a side/head wind.

 

The Callaway FT-IZ has that trampolene feel to it that most modern drivers have even on miss hits, the Hammer X hurts sometimes to hit (vibrates badly) and even when you think you hit it solid it just never feels right. It could be that I'm so used to the trampolene effect but I'm not for certain. Again I'm a 14 handicap but I think I'm in the target range for the Hammer X etc. I just wanted to give anyone who ever wondered about real world results the chance to see a unbiased video!

You did not yell loud enough for the Hammer to work. It is specially designed to work with the sonic pressure waves to enhance distance. If you do not reach at least 90 decibels of noise the driver does not go into "Hammer Time" mode. Maybe next time.

Thanks for the comparison. I have always wondering what the Hammer would really perform like.

I could not watch the whole video, the wind noise was driving me crazy!

I love the yell when you hit the Hammer though!!!! LOL

A friend bought one - it was the ugliest club I have ever seen, bar none. He could hit nothing but low fades with it, and he usually hits a draw. He thought he had a moneyback guarantee, but he said they were not honoring it.

Finally a real time review of the hammer. I think another factor for getting maximum performance out of the Hammer is Mountains. There must be mountains to hit toward. I think it somehow activates the smart shaft and pulls it faster toward the target. Would have been awesome if you'd hit it when the jet was flying over.

Actually, the Zolex in the Hammer is magnetically attracted to the iron deposits in the mountains. Little known fact: the "POW" sound you are all hearing is actually caused by Jack Hamm breaking the sound barrier with the Hammer. lol

lol, thanks for the comments guys, again I'm so sorry about the wind, we used a go pro and didn't realize how bad the wind was till we got it back. That was a F/A 18 Super Hornet flying over us trying to see if we were using the coveted HAMMER X! This course is on a Naval Air Station so it gets pretty loud from time to time! HAMMER TIME!
