i liked the 9015 better. Livelier face, better ballspeed numbers, more forgiving....The FT9 tour is a corpse, the deadest feeling driver i've ever hit. It's not bad, i mean it worked, but not as well as the 9015 and feel was much better with the Adams too

I've played both with the same shaft and same loft, both 10.5* with a harrison saga 70x. Here's the key differences from my perspective

1) Ball flight - 9015d flies higher, i'd say the difference in apexes is at least 15-20 feet

2) Face angle - 9015d sits much more open, ft-9 tour is square to a degree open. If you're like me and you line the ball up on your left toe, the ft-9 tour will actually appear slightly closed while the 9015d appears square to a degree open.

3) Forgiveness - equally forgiving, i couldn't tell any difference between the two on off-center hits. Based on the drivers geometry, it would seem the 9015d is better on misses up and down the face while the ft-9 tour would be better on misses towards toe/heel. That's just a guess. One thing to note is the callaway is very straight driver, but not as long.

4) Distance - 9015d for me flew about 10 yards further, we all know about how good the distance is with the adams head

5) Feel/Sound - 9015d has a more metallic sound while the ft-9 is more muted/plastic

I would happily play the ft-9 tour again, one of my favorite drivers ever because it was so easy to hit straight (straighter i think than the sumo square tour), but unfortunately the face cracked on me.

I would base your decision on what your miss is. If you tend to slice, the ft-9 tour might be a better driver for you. My miss is a pull-hook and the 9015d has helped me hitting more controlled fades.

One thing to keep in mind is if you do end up buying the ft-9 and want to put an aftermarket shaft in, make sure the shaft is pulled using no heat (ie shaft cut, remaining material drilled out from hosel, per callaway). Not doing this can lead to issues with the face seperating from the carbon fiber sole, i think maybe due to the epoxy losing strength. Even better, order directly from callaway or callaway preowned with the shaft you want, which will keep your purchase protected under warranty.

Mostly agree on the comparison above although I found the Ft9 Tour launches a bit higher than the 9015D, both drivers 9.5 loft. Slightly better carry with the FT9, the 9015D gets more roll.

Forgiveness wise, the Ft9 is much better, especially on hits more towards the toe. Mishits have a lot more dispersion with the 9015d. The Ft9 is easier to hit a simple straight shot, the 9015d demands you work the ball one way or the other.

Overall, I prefer the FT9 in all areas except for sound/feel. I would recommend an Imix Ft9 over a glued in version, unless the glued in FT9 has the exact shaft in it you want.

Bag Setup - changes too often to bother listing

+1, I picked up a FT9 Tour for $65 (craigslist) and took it down to the range along with a G10. The G10 feels and sounds great. I then hit like 12 balls with the FT9. Felt totally dead! I don't mind muted and sometimes play a Ping Rapture, but this thing felt lifeless. I felt like I paid too much.

I am interested in the 9015d but haven't hit one. It's has something of a cult following on this site. If my miss wasn't to the right I'd probably already own one.

I can comment about the FT Tour driver which is the 440 cc driver head. I hit this driver for a half of a season before the head cracked and it was a MONSTER. Long, workable, and very consistent. I loved the way the driver set up for me and the way it looked at address - gave me confidence.

As for distance - it did not out perform the 9015D. Easily 5 yards shorter on 90% of my shots when I compared the two head-to-head. And I had identical shafts in both drivers.

The FT tour was a great driver for me until the head cracked....

Have played both, unfortunately not with same shafts (wish I had my 73X WB in the 9015D. 9015D feels/sounds better, has more traditional looks, and is a monster distance wise. Think that the Cally was more forgiving.

All that being said, I still really like the FT9 Tour and would game one again (am may still if I can get one through Work as I don't like the FT Tour).
