nagging swing flaw that wont leave

It happens to me every season. There is about a week period when I start to get an over the top move that turns my fade into a slice and my irons into pulls. However, this season instead of just shaking out of it eventually it has nagged me for the past month. I usually shoot in the mid to high 70’s but lately I have been in the 80’s. I was wondering what everyone has found to be the best drill to correct this move. Thanks for your help

Make some very super slow motion swings....coming into impact from the inside...nice and slow (don't hit the ball).

 

Just ingrain that feeling in slow motion until you can repeat it at 50% and then at 75%, etc....if you come over the top at 75 % then go back to the 50% swing.

 

Start with a mid-iron (6 or 7) and go from there.

 

Also....a video camera will save you hours of guess work on the range. You can learn more about your swing in 5 minutes with a video camera than you'll learn in a year without one. A must have investment for anyone working on their swing.

I am having the same problem. I have come across a drill that is helping me. I am right handed so I will explain it that way. Set up in your normal position then move your right leg back about a 18" or so and make some practice swings. Its pretty hard to swing outside-in and over the top from this position. This helped me build a memory of how the in to out swing should feel. Good Luck hope this helps.

Swing the club back, and when you get to the top, stop for a sec.

Turn your head back, to the right, like you're looking down behind where your intended path is. Then swing down. With your head turned back, it's almost impossible to come over the top, and will actually force you to swing from the inside.
