I think this is the last of the Ping launches for a few weeks. Here are some Pics of the new Rature 3 wood that was being added to some players bags at the Buick...

Looks really, really nice. Looking forward to try this 3 wood. Hope the performance is as good as it looks. I'm wondering how much Ping staffers have already changed to the Rapture series. Should be quite a lot..

Really? Everyone thinks it looks good? I think it looks a little... bulbous. But I like the smaller heads... Currently playing Sonartec SS-07s.

 

I don't like the bottom at all, but at least there's minimal turf interaction.

The tour pefers steel and so do I.

 

No sure of the staying power of this, pricepoint will be a factor.

I know the G5 3 wood is 190cc and am curious what size the Rapture is.I am assuming it is a bit bigger.Any input?

I kinda like the moon alignment thingy...i just think it looks kinda neat! Not that i really need an alignment at all (my FT3 Fusion Tour doesnt have an alignment mark), i just like the look of the moon thing

I believe that the new wood is 229cc, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I've had the G5 3 wood since late last year - it's awesome. I think they'd have to go some to do better than those. As for the moon alignment aid on top, I don't even see it anymore. I guess it's like anything else - I didn't like it at first and have forgotten about it. I'm sure I'd still see it if I didn't love the club so much!

Ping Rep was at the shop where I get my clubs built yesterday and he had all the new goodies...S58's, and the Rapture woods/hybrids. The Driver was ugly, had the moon alignment and some crap all over the crown, very distracting. The woods look like mini-drivers way to big for my liking. The hybrid and S58 both looked good and I liked the Redwood Piper putter but thats it.

If you look at their web site they have added the Rapture Driver, Fairway Woods, Hybrids, and Irons to their page. They have also added the s58's, Redwood series putters and the Craz-e One JAS putter also.
