Good Course to Play for Friday Walk-on

Are there any courses that you guys would recommend for Friday morning walk-on play? I have every other Friday off and am looking for a few good courses that are good for taking walk-ons since not many of the guys that I golf with have Friday off and I sometimes won't decide if I want to golf until that morning.

A course that will let a single out by themself would be a plus. It's not that I mind being grouped with three random people. When we played at Koolau last, it was a Saturday around 10 am and they let out a single alone behind us and I thought that would be cool to just be out on the course and take your time and maybe play multiple balls if you felt like it. Can't really do that if you get paired up. I guess that would have to be courses that aren't busy, but have no idea how busy they are Friday mornings.

Would Navy-Marine and Mamala be good for that? It seems like they space out their tee times out quite a bit and could accommodate walk-ons. While I can play there, I have the lowest priority. I was also thinking that courses like New Ewa that doesn't seem that busy.

Any input appreciated! Thanks.

New Ewa starts twilight, first come first serve at 1:00pm

its normally really busy with tourist though

if I don't have a tee time anywhere I normally go to coral creek, they start twilight at noon, and it's normally pretty open

I went out twice this past week at 2pm(super twilight) and finished 18, I got stuck behind a 4 some, and a 2 some for a few holes though

Cool. Thanks, good to know.

When you've played twilight at Coral Creek, do you usually go out alone or do you usually get paired up with someone? Do you normally walk when you play twilight? I know most courses like to have their carts in at a certain time. I haven't walked a course in a while, but I would think that Coral Creek wouldn't be too bad.

BTW, were you at the Ala Wai range last week Tuesday? I thought I saw you walk by, but I wasn't sure. It's a little dark there at times. One time a friend was in the stall right next to me. She didn't say anything, so I figured that it wasn't her. Bad lighting. Haha. Anyways, swing by and say hi if you see me there again. How is your Mom liking the driver?

I've always gone out alone, never been paired up with someone.

the only semi-private course I've been on in the past two years that paired me up with someone was koolau

um, idk if they allow walking, some tee boxes are pretty far, it would take you a good 5-10 minutes to get to the first tee from the club house

carts in by 6:15 for now, but most time the guys working are pretty cool if you're a little late. The guy told me I could play the front nine twice if I wanted a couple times, cause the back nine was backed up.

yeah that was me, I waved but I don't think you saw, so I figured I just keep walking, lol

Lighting does suck there

mom really likes her new driver for the most part, I swung it a few times, might have to get one for myself(razr hawk)

ML,

Haha. Wasn't really looking to walk the course, but when I lived in Seattle, if you played twilight and couldn't return the cart by a certain time, you had to walk. And most of the courses were SUPER hilly. I assume Ala Wai is like that because I see all the people playing after like 4 pm walking. If I had to walk, I was thinking about buying a push cart since it's been a long time since I've lugged my bag around for a few miles! Guess time to get into better golfing shape! Sounds like at least Coral Creek will allow a cart, so that's good.

Any other courses that you've walked on?

Interesting that you mentioned Koolau because I've seen them let out a single on a Saturday morning. Must have been really slow that day. I wouldn't mind playing Koolau as a single. I've only played there once before and now that I know the layout, playing as a single probably wouldn't be too bad.
