Archives of the game's greats

Hi there,

If you have come into this thread then you must have some footage or you're like me, you're searching for some too! I would love to see the style of golf he played and how we handled himself on the course.

If by chance you happen to have information on where a golfer could see Jack play, please share in this thread. If so you would be educating a younger guy who really wants to learn about the history of the game more.

great picture awesome ,would have been great to see jack at his peak .see what he did with those old golf balls and lumber .i wonder how good he would have been in todays envoiroment ,do u think the fields are deeper.

Shell's Wonderful World of Golf: Nicklaus vs. Snead at Pebble Beach. That is some great footage.

You can see him with a slighly open stance clearly hitting a push draw on a lot of iron shots. Fascinating stuff.

The fields are much deeper now but I believe Jack competed against guys who had a stronger will to win because the money wasn't that great back then and it was all about winning. Lots of guys are playing for a cheque on tour these days and that hinders the motivation to win.

That's really interesting as I had thought Nicklaus played a fade most of his career.

Is there any old archives of the Shells series outside of what TGC use to air?
