difference with TM R7 quad driver vs TM R7460?

The r7 Quad head is 400cc...the 460 will give you a deeper face, wider face and overall, more forgivness. The r7 Quad probably stacks up more in cpmparison to the r7 425 while the r7 460 stacks up better with the r5. That said, the 400cc head is lower spin and lower launch than the 460. It's easier to work than the 460 as well. From my only experience with the 460, it hits high, flat bombs and you have some trouble shaping drives.

ACtually if your looking for a r7460, rockbottomgolf.com has them for 300 with some different shaft options. Or you can PM discount dans to see what their lowest availible price is! r7460 is going to be alot bigger/closed than the original quad.

I've owned all the drivers mentioned. The obvious difference is that the R7 Quad has a smaller head. So the R7 460 is theoretically more forgiving.

 

However, with that larger head come problem for many average golfers in squaring it. I actually think the original R7 is easier to hit straight than the 460.

 

But that's just me.

 

I'd go for an R7 425 myself. It is, theoretically, quite a bit more forgiving than the R7, whereas the jump to 460 has much less an affect due to the weights.

 

The R5 s also a great head, and for me was better than the R7 460.

 

My ranking would be:

R7425 best combo straightness, forgiveness and workability

R7 Quad straightest, but will let you know if you swing bad

R5 forgiving and straight

R7 460 forgicing and wayward.

 

In terms of length, I hit my longest drives with the R7 quad.

I dont chime in to much anymore since everything is longer and more forgiving these days!! However, I did change the shaft out on my R7 460 to a Pink Bi Matrix X flex. It has made a ton of difference, much lower spin, forgiving and very long!! Definitely an excellent driver with a lower spinning shaft.

I just bought a R5 Neutral with a speeder 757 new for $225, I hit it straight and long, real pleased with this set-up.
