Razr X Tour hybrid

Did a search and didn't find a lot about it. Anybody playing one of these? I went to a couple places to demo one today but both said they were out of them. I found one place that had them and really liked the look but I was only able to hit in into a net so I couldn't tell much about it. Also, is there much difference between the Razr and the Diablo Edge Tour?

Looks like basically a rebadge of the DET, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The DET is the only hybrid I've ever really loved. I am about to go get an Altus for mine and game it again.

I tried and I think the only difference between the tour and regular version is the regular is more offset. I hit this against the 910H and R11 H and think the Razr tour is the best of the bunch, but that was only inside as will but in tent. It feels better and more solid. I also think it's easier to hit, plus I like the fact that I'm not looking at an adjustable hosel...and it's cheaper than the 910H by quite a bit. Will be picking up one in a week or so.

I loved the looks and it felt solid but again it's hard to tell anything about it hitting into a net. I tried the DET a couple times and liked it but haven't had one on the course.

The problem with them is the stock shaft is just light and spinny. It's why I never really gamed mine for any long period of time. Never replaced the shaft and just was more interested in trying to go with 4 wegdges. I've since given up on that and will switch between my DET and 2i. I think with the Altus, it should be a really nice combo. workable, and a good piercing trajectory.

If the DET hybrid would be as good as my DET 3 wood after a shaft change it's something to think about.

I agree, it's why I'm so interested in doing it. It's a rocket off the tee, and can be pretty versatile. Definitely can be a fire and forget club though, which is sometimes good and sometimes not.

I rented a set of clubs while on vacation and had the standard Razr X 3 in the bag. For reference I draw most everything and hybrids are snap hook city. Only ones I seem to be able to hit are the I15 and the super open tour versions of other hybrids. It's a swing flaw for sure.

Anyway, we warmed up on the range and when I got to the hybrid I was VERY impressed. Even with the offset and big draw I could tell it was very easy to hit. I personally liked the feel/sound quite a bit, and the trajectory was pretty high. I could see a need to change the shaft out if you wanted a more penetrating flight but even with the stock shaft I liked the results. It was an easy 15-20 yards beyond the 4 iron and I was not going after it at all. The couple that I managed to hit hard and semi straight were LONG. (for me that is. it's all relative).

I'd never been big fan of the Callaway stuff since the old Steelheads and Hawkeyes. None of the hybrids did anything for me, but this Razr deserves some consideration. Once the weather breaks and we get a demo day I will be testing it out.

It was just a par 3 course so my demo set was the Razr irons, Razr 3h, Jaws 60*, and White Ice putter. I liked the 3.0 bag we go to use and the Hybrid. That was it.

Agreed on the part of never liking Callaway hybrids prior to these new batch of hybrids. I assume they are in some way designed after Phil's. They really do go, and the feeling coming off the face is just awesome.

I too have never been a fan of Callaway stuff, but the new hybrid, tour irons, and even the Razr woods have me impressed.

I've been playing the razr x tour hybrid for a couple weeks. I have the 3 hybrid. I've always had trouble in the past with huge hooks with hybrids but it is nonexistent with this club. I hit my 4 iron about 160, this 3 hybrid goes 195-200 for me. Long, and amazing trajectory, goes high very easily. Put one 6 feet away from 200 out on one of the hardest par 4s on my course the other day. Shaft feels very solid.

Tried out the hybrids today to go with my Razr X Tours 5-AW. I was filling a gap between 180 yrd 5 iron and 195-200 yrd 5 wood. I demoed both the Razr X and Razr X tour in #3, stiff. The tour version is smaller both in length and depth'

I was indoors but they have a launch monitor so I had some good feedback. Both have a hot face and the ball was jumping off at a mid trajectory (about 22 deg launch angle) When struck well, both clubs had total distance of 195-200 yrds (85 mph ss) . My average distances version were higher for the non-tour version, I saw pretty big falloff in distance on poor hits from the tour version. I was expecting the tour version to be longer due to more penetrating trajectory, but the standard version actually had the two longest shots, both over 205.

Well hit shots were consistently in the 190-195 range, which is about 10 yards further than my TM Burner 3 hybrid. Should fill the gap nicely.

I left with a new Razr X 3 hybrid (standard.)

Hi Golfin2,

Just wanna know which shaft do you have in your R-X-T hybrid?

Thanks,

Pierre

Tried all the new hybrids and the RAZR X Tour and DET hyrids were the best of the bunch. Had the Pro Black's and 910's but the RAZR X hybrids are so much easier to hit out of the rough and fairways. The DET are better off the T and is a longer club than the RAZR's.

Hi Muskyhunter,

Stock shaft in your Raxr X Tour Hybrids?

Thanks

Pierre
