What do you guys use around the green

Even when I probably shouldn't....a 60.

But now that I had my 54 kwok'd and grinded...I'm going to try that a little more often.

56....easiest to hit without too much concentration.. IMO 60 is sometime to touchy. Plus I'm more used to the 56 than the 60.

For chipping I'll use anything between a 5 iron and 58* wedge depending upon the shot, and it's pretty evenly spread between those clubs although if I had to pin down what I would use most it'd be an 8 or 9 iron. For pitch shots I vary depending upon the trajectory I am looking for and the lie is always a factor as well. I carry 49*, 54* and 58* wedges and am just as likely to use any of them and I will sometimes pitch with my 8 or 9 iron as well.

All depends on how far I am off the edge of green, how close the flag is to the edge i'm at and green slope conditions, blah blah blah.
Typically for me tho it's mostly the 52*. :stop:

I agree with jcjr34, I have a choice of 14 different shots depending on my situation using anything from a wood, 7I, or my putter near the green.

the 56 and 60 are my favorite for the spin I can get when trying to loft it in and stick it close. ;)

I keep my old Wilson R-90 in the bag JUST for around the greens. I've tried everything else, and I just can't replicate the confidence, consistency, and feel it gives me. I think it is 55 degrees, with an insane amount of bounce and very rounded leading edge. It's pretty useless away from the greens, so I had to switch to a 54 & 58 wedge configuration from a 52-56-60 to free up a spot for it.

I use my 52 for pitch and runs, my 58 for high drop shots with little roll, and my 64 to drop the ball within a few feet of the hole.

It always depends on the situation I'm in. If I had my choice I'd want it to be a easy pitch and run with plenty of green to work with but that's almost never the case. Most of the greens I play on are elevated and surounded by traps so I'm always having to play high drop shots with my 64 or 58(depending on how much green I have to work with).
