Help! Vega or Mizuno irons??

Hi chaps,

 

Read many an article on WRX, but first time i've posted a thread on here so be gentle!!!

 

Trying to decide on something. I picked up a set of Vega RAF-02 irons (got them on a site called Kitbag in the UK about a month ago, it had a golf outlet on there and was doing a clearance for the european tour onlineshop. I picked up a set of the Vegas 3-pw w/ stiff shafts and iomic grips for....only £400, normally £1200+. An amazing deal i know!!!

 

However I haven't used the Vegas properly yet as they need to be fitted (re shafted with +1/2 inch length, and +3 degrees loft), and I've recently been hitting a few Mizuno MP-53's irons at the range and love them - and so here's the dilemma

 

Do i keep the Vega irons and get them fitted to my spec or do i sell/exchange and go for a fitted set of Mizuno MP-53's. money dictates I can only do one. So just because the Vegas normally retail for £1200+ should that be a reason to keep them (although the flip side is when will i be able to buy irons for £1200 again, and will i regret selling them if i do??) arghhh!!!!!

 

After hanging up my football boots i've been playing golf only for 2&1/2 years (play of 14 currently - hope to be down to around 10 by the end of summer) - but like many of you as soon as i struck my first sweet iron shot i've been hooked/obsessed! Respect people on heres opinions - so it would be great to get your thoughts on my choices and anyones experiences with both these clubs.

Keep the Vega irons..Just adust them to your liking and you wont regret your choice. The Mizunos are good, but they are just a "normal" set of clubs. By the way, why do you want to change the loft up 3 degrees? Ive never herad of that ever. Or do you mean Lie?

vega and it's not even close..mizuno head weights vary alot..much as a suprise to many..got this from a top clubfitter. Vega is right ther with Miura and Epon...

vega...I think you will be surprised how much fitted irons will your contact with the ball.

Those new Vega VM-02 blades look pretty special, would love to try them up against my MP68's.

ha ha - erm, no not plugging a site! I only mentioned it as getting the RAFC-02's for such a low amount people might think they were knock offs or something, just mentioned the site to show they were legit. Sorry realised i didn't mention they are the RAFC-02's (just put RAF-02). Well seems to be one way traffic for Vega at the minute. Has anyone else actually played the RAFC-02's? I know they are the more forgiving of the RAFC models - what would you say is the equivalent 'well known' iron? Same as the Miz MP-53's / AP2 ???
