Leaving for Wales, any tips?

Final preparations in place

I leave in 31 hours for Wales for five days of golf. I'll be packing tomorrow morning but still have time for any last minute needs. Anyone who's done a trip to this part of the world, I'd love any tips you can share. At this point the weather looks like 60ish, some rain, some sun. Packing one rain suit, two pairs of shoes, two leather gloves, one pair of rain gloves, some long sleeve shirts.

Trying to think of any "oh duh" things I haven't thought of.

An extra rain suit and two more pairs of rain gloves?

Make sure your shoes are rain-resistant and you might want two pairs if you are playing back to back days.

Extra dry socks in your bag also go a long way, but keep them in a plastic bag

I know it is a different season, but when I was there for Ryder Cup and to play some golf....I know the one rain suit and one pair of shoes I brought were not enough. It feels colder than the temp says, espeically in the rain and on the course. Beautiful country though, and really some of the most amazing people. Have fun. Try to catch a rugby match while you are there...they are a blast.

This is great, thanks. Unfortunately I've only got one rain suit, but maybe some nice rain gear would be a present to myself while I'm over there. I'll definitely pack lots of socks, and thanks for the tip about the plastic bag in the golf bag. I wouldn't have thought of that, but I'm sure it's key for valuables, too. I'm going to pick up a few more long sleeve shirts for under my golf shirts. I'd much rather overpack and then have it be 70 and sunny than find myself miserable, cold and soggy.

If you really want to treat yourself to rain gear when you are there - two words - Galvin Green. Not cheap but VERY good.

Back from my trip, and it was phenomenal. My first experience with links golf was at Royal Porthcawl, which, based on some homework is a heck of a way to be introduced. We also played Celtic Manor's three course. The Twenty Ten was lots of fun, but the opposite of links golf. The place got a bum rap during the Ryder Cup, it was a really entertaining layout and lots of holes that leave a lasting impression. The Celtic Manor Montgomery Course was also a real delight. CM's Roman Road was tough for a first timer, with too many blind tee shots and holes that even with a yardage book left you scratching your head once you see them in person. I'd have liked a second crack at that one and see how it plays.

I packed all sort of rain gear, gloves, thermal shirts, etc. Ended up being in the 60s-70s and sunny all week. Very windy (25-30 mph steady) giving a real feel for links golf.
