How do you store your stand bag?

Do the legs wear if used in storage?

I came across another thread a while ago where someone suggested not storing a stand bag on the legs. The reasoning is that the mechanism will become loose and the legs will hang when carrying. I just bought my first stand bag earlier this year and this concerns me (because it cost a fair bit!) - what are your experiences?

Mine have a strap to hold the legs in when used vertical or in a cart.

If it didn't and I was concerned I would probably just put bungie around the bottom and stand it in a corner.

Maybe I should clarify what I was asking.

1. Are you guys standing your bags on the base or on the legs?
2. Has anyone experienced any issues storing by storing a bag on the legs all of the time?

I'm looking to find out if sotring on the legs can cause wear to the mechanism. Does this cause the legs to droop when carrying after a while?

When mine is strapped , it sits on the mechanism but the legs dont kick out so nothing can wear.

I think leaving my last bag on the garage floor did shorten the life of the legs. With the smoother surface they couldn't get a good grip and eventually began suffering from 'foal trying to stand for the first time' syndrome, so yes the bad news is, it will have an impact. Putting quite a bit of stuff (balls, extra or weighted clubs, etc) to weigh it down probably didn't help.

The good news is that it took 4 years to happen.

Bottom line, storing it upright will make it last longer. However be careful that you don't lean it to the side... depending on the foot mechanism that could put strain on one side of it that would be worse than having the bag sit open normally.

I just use the stand all the time, its pushing 8-10 years old now, I think. Some of the zippers are broken but the stand still works just fine

in the trunk! or on a golf rack where the legs aren't needed, actually saves a lot of space too.
