Attaching rangefinder to bag?

I just received a new Callaway rangefinder as a gift. It has the carabiner hook that I am currently using to attach it to my stand bag. I was thinking of a different way to attach but can't seem to find what I am looking for.

 

I am thinking of a retractable cord (kind of like what the Frogger brush cleaners are attached with) that would all me to have it permanently attached to the bag and able to use it when I want. Any idea of where to find something like this? Thanks.

It looks to be decent and the one picture has a guy with a little mag light attached that probably weighs as much as the rangefinder. The 4 foot cable should be good for golf.

Yeah, I walk probably 95% of my rounds. $20 per round for a cart at my CC is too steep for a poor law student.

Don't get me wrong, the carabiner is very convenient in its own right, I don't have to dig it out of a compartment every time to use it. I just think it would be so much easier to not have to unclip/clip it every time. It would be great to just grab it, shoot it, and let it go and know that it was still attached.

I wonder if it is durable enough.

Nikon makes one specifically for range finders and they make the Callaway's. Just google Nikon range finder accessories. $20 or so. I use one and it is strong enough but a little short so I added an extension and it is perfect. Very secure and strong.

that looks like what you need. try it. if it isnt you have 30 days to return since its fulfilled by amazon. theyre awesome about returns like that.

I would be quite hesitant to risk my rangefinder to a retractable cord device. Since I use a push cart it is a moot point for me, but if I was carrying a bag I would get some kind of cell phone case that could be attached to the carry strap that is closest to my rangefinder hand - that way I could get rangefinder out without putting bag down and do distances on the fly as I am walking.

I am sure something suitable could be MacGyvered up in no time.
