Tour V2 Slope or 1600 with Slope?

Going to pick one up......which one should I get?

I don't have to get slope but I thought it would come in handy.....unless people think it's a waste of time.

Hi, Went through the same thought process as you and ended up going with the V2 without slope. I went with V2 over the 1600 due to size as I liked how much smaller the V2 was. Was on the fence about the slope as it would be nice to know/learn how much difference slope/hills would make, but I ended up not getting slope as I'm kind of old school and want to factor slope in on my own. Based on feedback I saw you can't go wrong with any of the options on your list. I just got mine last night, so cannot give you real feedback. I did get the Patriot Pack that comes with an extra battery and ans a skin for same price as getting standalone unit. Good luck, Mac

I have a 1600 with slope and really like it. I think it's worth the extra money. Before I got it, I had a smaller model (can't remember exactly which one). I was initially concerned about the size of the 1600 but after using it for some time now, it's not an issue.

1600 lots easier to read then v2, especially if your not steady. 1500 is great also

I love my 1500...... I like the binocular style much more than the upright, but I have shaky hands. No slope for me though, but no reason to try and stir that pot.

Other pros of the 1600 are more magnification, totally waterproof (vs rainproof), and it uses 9 volt batteries which are cheaper and easier to find in a pinch than the 3 volt Li Ion. The main thing with the v2 is that it's smaller if you plan on keeping it in your pocket.

I actually picked up a V2 no slope yesterday and took it out to the range last night. I was having problems staying steady enough and the black LED was hard to read. I played around with the Leupold GX3 at the store and it was awesome....loved the red numbers. Salesguy talked me out of it at Golfsmith because the V2 Patriot pack was on sale. I'm going to take it back today and get the GX3.....best of both worlds with the ease of use like the 1600 but small like the V2. Also seems much easier to shoot objects with the red crosshairs.

I just got the V2 w/slope and used it for the first time yesterday. With the Pinseeker technology I had no problem getting yardages even with somewhat unsteady hands. It takes a little longer to get the effective distance with slope than they claim (2 seconds) which could be due to a little shakiness. Other than that, I really like the compact size and the Patriot Pack is a nice bargain with an extra battery, neoprene case and golf towel included for the original price.

Hi, Went to the range today and used the V2. It was so easy to get yardage form the range flags. Real clear and fast. I really like the smaller size as fits in my bag nice and easy to hold/carry. Nice to know yardage during practice. Mac
