switch from s59's

About a year ago I was fitted for a set of ping s59's. Playing to about an 8 handicap I thought I had the

game to handle these sticks. Unfortunately, I let my ego get the best of me and found out the hard way that even though they may look cool in the bag they are not working out for me. With the last few rounds I have played I am seeing that my iron trouble is really holding me back from consistently being in the mid/high 70s.

Some sets I was considering were cg4 or cg4 tour, i5's, rac lt's, x-18's and maybe even x-tours. I am planning

on demoing in the next few days, but am leaning towards the pings because custom fitting is a big issue for me (i'm about 6'7")

any advice is appreciated

Are you struggling with your short irons as well? You may be better with looking at your 3-6 irons. I play a combo set of i5 (4-6) and S59 (7-P) and play off of a 9. This combo is working well for me and my cap is slowly dropping. Of course if your short irons are also struggling I would reccomend the i5s. BTW I am 6'4" and feel your pain on the custom fitting . Ping are the best when it comes to fitting.

no its not just my long irons, on an off day I struggle with pretty much all of the irons.

I have had my good days with these irons but I just think something more forgiving would help my consistency a lot more.

We'll Ive been fiddling with irons over the last season and have tried pretty much all the latest players cavity back irons out. Long story short Im going to order another set of i3+ blades and yes Ive tried the i5's MY h.c. is very close to yours. For day in day out use they are the best irons Ive used. GL
